Qualified (QTS) Primary Teacher with 12 years experience. SEN Education Consultant at Clarus Education; Recruiting SEN specialists for London SEN Schools.
As our understanding and awareness of SEN has grown, it's become clear there are more children with Neurodivergence in our mainstream classrooms than we once thought. Waiting lists for diagnosis are long, far too long. EHCPs are scarce, and even those who are lucky enough to get one don't often get the much needed funding to implement the support stated on the EHCP. A lack of staff training on SEN is another contributing factor to the challenges faced by children with undiagnosed Autism and ADHD. Please sign this petition to increase this training and ensure our school staff have the best and most up to date knowledge, to empower them to better support our children with SEN. #neurodivergence #sen #teachers #education #awareness

PhD Researcher and Founder of Walk Together Adoption Resource | Committed to empowering adoptees and adopters through research, resilience and knowledge.
Stats reveal that a staggering 80% of adopted children in the UK have experienced abuse, neglect, or violence, highlighting the urgent need for support systems tailored to their unique vulnerabilities! Adopted adolescents navigate a complex emotional landscape, often grappling with identity and belonging. Vulnerabilities such as exposure to trauma increase their susceptibility to risky behaviours like involvement in County Lines or compulsive shopping, emphasising the necessity for targeted interventions and stable environments to foster resilience. Educators, caregivers, and communities must recognise and address the profound needs of adopted adolescents, ensuring they receive the tailored support required to navigate adolescence successfully. By fostering empathy, understanding, and proactive measures, we can empower these young individuals to flourish and define their futures on their terms. Give our latest blog a read for more info on the topic of vulnerability in adopted adolescents... #Adoption #SupportingAdolescents #Empowerment https://lnkd.in/d_CKRZzN
