This is a great read. Can’t help thinking that if I’m an HR leader, juggling providing top notch financial wellness resources against my benefits budget, I’m heading straight to a credit union with SEG field of membership and asking for their SEG proposal. Some credit unions, like BCU for example, provide great banking products along with comprehensive financial wellness programs (including personal financial coaching) at no cost to their SEGs. Combined with the trust, community orientation and people-centric service credit unions are known for, this at least takes care of the financial empowerment piece of the puzzle at no extra cost. [Disclosure: Paperwork provides services to Life.Money.You LLC, the financial wellness CUSO of BCU]. #creditunions #financialwellness #peoplehelpingpeople

Our research at Aflac has identified a mismatch between what employers think about the benefits they offer, and how their employees really feel about them. I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Kathryn Mayer of SHRM about how HR leaders can close the gap. It comes down to communication, transparency and understanding how financial stress impacts mental health and, by extension, employee engagement, happiness and productivity.
