Yesterday, Kering Chief Sustainability and Institutional Affairs Officer, Marie-Claire Daveu attended Christie's Art+Tech summit in New York. Taking part in a panel discussion in conversation with Julien Pradels, Christie’s Global Head of Operations, on ‘Thoughtful Luxury’, Marie-Claire Daveu highlighted the role of the Luxury industry in driving sustainability: “Luxury has a strong responsibility in changing the paradigm because it is a fact: when it comes to raising awareness on environmental issues, scientists sometimes have less impact on the general public than artistic directors do. Therefore, Luxury needs to use its influential voice to help shift how the industry operates.” Further, she added that in order to drive change effectively, companies have to put sustainability at the core of their strategy, after which both leaders and managers in the organizations need to be incentivized on quantitative sustainability targets. 👏👏 De même les grands vins du monde et le développement durable ne peuvent être dissociés !!
Kering was the first conglomerate in the luxury industry to put down a stake and take a stand on this crucial issue. I has not gone unnoticed!
