To all my contacts, I have a FAVOUR to ask if I may……… Please take the time to read….🙏🏻🙏🏻 Some of you may or may not know but in just over 3 weeks’ time, I will be embarking on an opportunity of a lifetime by climbing Kilimanjaro to help raise vital funds for Kelly's Heroes The Challenge! 💪🏻🧗 Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain above sea level in the world at 5895m (19,341 ft). This immense opportunity will be both physically and mentally challenging and will push me to my limits. I will be away from home for 10 days in total, the aim is to reach the summit at 5895m in 6 days, whilst also trying to acclimatise to the altitude, which is one of the biggest challenges. There are no hotels, no warm showers, and no home comforts. Each day will consist of making it from one base camp to the next, setting up our tents, and going full-out Bear Grylls style to make it to the summit and back down again. I cannot wait to see what I am made off!!! Why am I doing this! I am taking on this monumental challenge to help raise much-needed funds for the charity Kelly’s Heros!! Kellys Heros is the new name for the ‘We Mind & Kelly Matters’ charity which was formed in 2019 by founders John Hewitt, Rachael Hewitt and Amy Hewitt after the devastating loss of their daughter and sister Kelly following her struggles with mental health. Unless you are affected or know someone struggling with Mental Health its difficult to understand. There is still a stigma associated with it, leaving many to suffer in silence. The charity aims to raise awareness and help prevent suicide. The money raised with be used to deliver and develop more support services to those who are in need, but also to support family and friends of those who have lost a loved one to suicide. Staggeringly, we know that around 7000 people in the UK take their own life!!! That’s 135 people every week!!! This is heartbreaking to read and see; we need to do something about it! Kellys Heros are doing just that and with the support and help of the people. Kellys Hero’s can help grow and develop much-needed essential services to help and support people who are struggling!!
