The Students' Union Okanagan's General Election is here! As someone who works in the SUO, I believe I have good insight when it comes to choosing the future leaders that will sit on the SUO Board of Directors. I want to share a few thoughts about how you should choose which candidates to vote for. How to choose a candidate to support: - Look at their credentials and experience - Ask their coworkers, classmates, groupmates, etc. about their work ethic - Pay attention to whether they attend the SUO Election Debates or not - See how well they know the SUO - Pay attention to their political values - Important questions to ask them: - What is a current SUO initiative that you would like to improve, and how? - How involved have you been with the SUO? - Why do you think you are worthy of this position? - What do you think is lacking in the SUO right now, and how do you think that can be fixed? - What are your goals for this election? - How do you currently show that you care about the student body? - Would you be running for this position even if it did not include an honorarium? If you have any thoughts, feel free to comment or message me! I care about the SUO Elections, and I welcome any discussion surrounding it! Let us vote wisely this General Election, because the SUO leaders impact our university life to a great extent.
