By enabling them to amplify their voices, monetise their data, and enhance trust and transparency, these projects are unlocking new avenues for empowerment and inclusion in the global economy. Through a decentralized autonomous organization, or DAO, members receive tokens that allow them to vote or to create and submit proposals. They mean that no single authority controls the process and the mass is active in the movement’s processes and actions. Similarly, for governance, there are several mechanisms used by the Meeds DAO to ensure the community participates in various activities such as staking, yield farming among others. The DAO has also created ‘tip jar’ incentives, in the form of additional tokens,which encourage members to contribute towards the ecosystem and its operations.
