Optimize Your Health On Your Time: Feasibility And Accessibility Of Online Coaching
"Remember that time is money." - Benjamin Franklin (Advice to a Young Tradesman, 21 July 1748)
I wonder if Benjamin Franklin would apply his money aphorism to health? If so, I think he'd be a strong proponent of online coaching for both its convenience and time efficiency!
It may be difficult to remember, but there was a time when accessibility to information and knowledge was generally restricted to either hard forms (books, audio, photographs etc) or imparted through live direct in-person communication.
Today, research is showing how technology has opened a new door to communication and how knowledge is disseminated in the health and fitness industries. One study shows how the accessibility and feasibility of an online remote exercise program provided high adherence and satisfaction, helping to "prevent deconditioning and loss of autonomy in older adults [65yo+]" (Buckinx et al 2021).
Another study found an increase in health technology usage during the COVID-19 shutdown. This study described the use of online coaching as, "others found that the structure and variety in online courses helped them feel motivated, as they would not have to design their own exercise program" (Newbold et al 2021).
Take control over your health and curate your ideal program. On YOUR time. On YOUR own terms.
