We at r3.0 engaged in depth with the Corporate Racial Equity Alliance (CREA) over that past few years, to support them in developing a set of corporate performance standards that integrate racial and economic equity thresholds, and tie in to corporate duties & obligations to manage their impacts on rightsholders sustainably. CREA is hosting an important Webinar next week (on 20 May) introducing the draft standards and opening up an extended public comment period. I'm particularly excited to hear from Mahlet Getachew of PolicyLink, who has been leading the development of these standards (which she will be speaking about at the r3.0 Conference this fall in the thresholds & allocations session https://lnkd.in/eTN-QBAf ) Other key players in the standards development who will be speaking include Ashley Marchand Orme of JUST Capital and Kendra Berenson of FSG. And we deeply appreciate the participation of Jocelyn Corbett of PolicyLink & Christine Auwarter of FSG representing CREA in our Global Thresholds & Allocations Network. I strongly encourage folks to attend this Webinar, and participate in the public comment period for these pioneering standards. https://lnkd.in/e7n68mQz

🚨 Today, Bright Blue releases our latest report, “Mind your business?”, exploring ways to increase the presence of democratic businesses - such as co-operatives and employee-owned businesses - in the economy. You can read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/g_Btk_bg These types of businesses deserve more attention from the centre-right. As Harold Macmillan noted in 1934, it is positive to have a system that “is able to provide a reasonable compromise between the rival claims of individualist and collectivist conceptions of society.”

Institute for Citizens & Scholars launched the series “Preamble” to hear from diverse leaders—particularly those you might not expect—about their ideas for shaping a more perfect Union. Baratunde Thurston's interview with Rajiv V. taps into something simple but deeply meaningful. If we take “citizen” as a verb and not a noun, it means showing up. It means taking action. “It means committing to the collective, not just individual self, that we see ourselves as part of something greater than just ourselves and our families.” Take a look. https://lnkd.in/gduY2Xwt

Up Is Up, Down Is Down - Promoting Common-Sense Policies That Actually Work – with Jonathan Williams – [Ep. 200] In our ever-changing world, some things always remain the same. Up is up, down is down, the force of gravity is real, and no matter what current math programs may say, 2+2 still equals 4. The same is true regarding public policy. Many principles and policies are timeless in relevance and application to our lives. We can see this clearly when we take an objective look at history, and if we are wise, we will learn from successes and failures of various policies enacted at local, state, and national levels. We are fortunate in America to have fifty states, all operating as laboratories of democracy, providing real-time insights into fiscal and cultural policies that impact freedom positively or negatively. In my recent interview with Jonathan Williams, Chief Economist and Executive Vice-President of Policy at the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), we discussed what works and what doesn’t when it comes to legislative policies that will protect freedom and opportunity so individuals, businesses, and communities can flourish. We don’t have to make all our own mistakes and learn the hard way, we can learn from the mistakes of others and plan a course for success. ©2024, Prosperity 101, LLC #prosperity101 #prosperity #podcast #podcasts #westandforfreedom #godblessamerica #godblesstheusa #freedom #liberty #employer #employers #constitution #federalism American Legislative Exchange Council US Christian Chamber of Commerce C-Suite For Christ Christian Employers Alliance (CEA)

Head of Fixed Income PrimaryBid, LSEG PMG, Chair of (IARB) Investor Access to Regulated Bonds, WCIB, Freeman of the City of London,
Delighted to see IARB member, Association of Corporate Treasurers support the issuance of lower denominated bonds in their UK General Election Manifesto 2O24 ‘The ACT requests that the next UK Government take all necessary steps to enhance the UK as an attractive place to do business. 1. FUNDING AVAILABILITY Facilitate access to capital for corporates, For the UK to thrive, access to capital must be readily available to all. We ask that the next government: • Actively support market initiatives to enable the market to access diverse sources of capital (e.g. through simplification of the disclosure requirements to encourage low denomination bonds to be offered more widely)’
At the start of ‘manifesto week’ in the UK General Election the Association of Corporate Treasurers has published a treasurers’ manifesto - 5 priorities which we believe would encourage clarity, predictability and confidence in the UK economy, with consequent benefits for growth and business prosperity. It’s also considerably shorter than most of the other manifestos you might read this week! In this video, Carrie Sudbury CEO of Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce addresses the growing frustration among businesses and the disconnection felt with local and national politics. Despite these challenges, we at the Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber strongly urge you to make your vote count. Your vote is crucial in shaping not just the national political landscape for the next 4 to 5 years, but also the future of our local communities, economy, and people. On the 5th of July, regardless of who is in power, we demand: ⚬ A strategy with green jobs and business investment opportunities at its heart. ⚬ Better skills planning to boost investment in skills and bring businesses and training providers together to tackle skills shortages and support sustainable career opportunities for all. ⚬ A business rates reform to encourage growth and investment is crucial, creating a local economy for the future. ⚬ Improve relations with the European Union to cut the costs for businesses. - we champion the new government, whoever it may be, to negotiate improved UK trading terms with our largest partner, the EU. ⚬ We also support an initiative led by the British Chambers of Commerce, a Digital Revolution - A government-appointed AI champion for SMEs to spearhead the uptake of new technology to boost productivity and competitiveness in the region. No matter your political stance or the frustrations you may feel, we encourage you to vote on the 4th of July. Together, we can shape a better future for all. Together We Achieve More.
