NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS! If they worked, I guess we wouldn't be setting the same ones each year! We can set ourselves goals in January and these can be successfully met over the year, but we need to think them through carefully in order to make them a reality! 5 common reasons they fail: 1. You have set an unrealistic goal that is overwhelming and therefore unachievable 2. You are doing what you think you 'should' do rather than what you need or want right now 3. You haven't planned for barriers or challenges that will arise as you embark on change 4. You are overly driven by extrinsic motivations such as 'I must lose weight' rather than thinking about why this is important to you and how you will benefit from this change 5. You don't have the right support. Making change that sticks can be challenging and so having the right support to guide you through can make all the difference.
