🌟 𝐌𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐲 & 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 🌟 In a conversation with friends, they encouraged me to update my profile photo with a recent one. My old profile photo had a frame which was making my DEI commitment public. That dialogue was a reminder and the trigger of this post. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐦𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: 🤝 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: Our team is a mosaic of unique backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. I celebrate this diversity because it fuels creativity, innovation, and resilience. 🌎 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬: It’s not about equal treatment; it’s about equitable opportunities. I believe in leveling the playing field, addressing systemic biases, and ensuring that everyone has a fair shot. 🤗 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐧-𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞: Inclusion isn’t a checkbox; it’s a mindset. Your ideas, your identity—they’re valued. We’re not just colleagues; we’re a supportive community where trust and respect flourish. 🚀 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐞: I seek excellence. Whether you’re an introvert who crunches code or an extrovert who lights up the room, your competence matters. Expertise isn’t confined to job titles; it’s found in passion, curiosity, and continuous learning. 🔐 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐬 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: Trust is our currency. Leading with transparency, honesty, and integrity matters. Trust isn’t built overnight—it’s nurtured through consistent actions and genuine care. With your customers, with your organization, with your partners. Wishing a great week ahead!

🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🌈 This month, and every month, diversity and inclusion are top of mind for myself and for Roc Search 💗 We all know that the tech space is a field that shapes every aspect of our world and is engrained in every single industry 💻 Heck, even farmers (the field you'd imagine is furthest away from the tech space) are using technologies like GPS, automation, and auto-steering to maximize crop yields 🍅 Because these technologies shape the world we live in, and touch the lives of every human being, and are inevitably a reflection of their creators to some degree (hello AI) it is imperative that these technologies are shaped by a diverse group of people from all walks of life. I'm fortunate to work in a field where I can have a direct impact on placing diverse talent in these technical roles that create a direct impression on our world and our future 🌍 On a personal level, I'm very fortunate to also be engrained in a community here in Austin that celebrates diversity loud and proud 365 24/7. This isn't the reality for everyone, everywhere. However, that doesn't mean that it can't be. The way we live our lives day to day is what creates these realities 🌟 This month, let's pause to contemplate our engagement with diverse communities—the individuals who enrich our lives, the ideas we cultivate, and how we can amplify our authentic selves to shine brighter in our own unique ways and also become stronger allies for those who rely on our support and advocacy. 🌟 Together, we can make the future of our world a more inclusive and diverse one every day 🌈 #HappyPride #PrideMonth #Diversity

Early career Margz knew some things. Below I've included an excerpt from an article I wrote titled, " Herstory: My Journey in Corporate America". I wrote that article over 4 years ago when I first entered/pivoted into focusing on DEI initiatives. Dang, how so many things have changed since. For starters I would include some statistics and my writing style along with my communication style has developed tremendously. I would've included a business perspective and business case. I should probably go ahead and release a V.2 of it now that I have some years under me. Anyways thanks for reading and enjoy! "We should focus on hiring in instead of out: meaning not basing our assessment on an individuals pedigree from an establishment, but rather to look at a candidate holistically; what barriers have they overcome, what novel experiences do they bring to the table, and how have they demonstrated excellence?. By having more inclusive hiring processes could set precedent that can continue to push conversations forward around the gender and race pay gap and economic mobility. I've been challenged to figure out "Corporate America" when I didn't necessarily have mentors or an example of what that looked like in my community. However, what I’ve learned about myself and my role that I have is as follows: social impact programs can accelerate and drive change in marginalized communities when they are run efficiently, a desire to leverage the skills I’ve gained in the corporate world to make a lasting impact in the world of social good. I have a passion for building programs that allow for more inclusivity and personal growth in teams. A goal I have for myself this year is to create more ways to empower marginalized groups through innovation such as instead of having a Womxn’s Group at my company how can I push that further. Such as having employees sign up to mentor an at risk youth in our area getting them excited about their future and providing them with an outline of how to get there. Which I would've loved to have a mentor to help me understand how to develop a career pathway. Happy Womxn's Herstory Month; I'm grateful for all the beings I have in my life that have helped shape me into who I am today and who i'm becoming."

Happy Thursday to you! I hope that you are feeling fulfilled on this summer day. I love the relational outcomes that I am witnessing on my inclusive journey. Reviewing the week allows us to seek out the meaning of our inclusive journey. We witness the growth within ourselves and even the growth of others. Here are a few examples. --- SHIFTING BEHAVIORAL OUTCOMES: Our behaviors change. Something that used to be bothersome may not be any longer. --- SHIFTING THOUGHTS: We notice our thoughts change as we have had continuous exposure to various lived experiences. --- SHIFTING OF CONTRAST: We witness a contrast we have never seen before, which is the beginning of more inclusive expansion. Inclusion is a journey with peaks and valleys. However, isn’t that what life is all about?! The beauty is that we can embrace it all. It makes life worth living. Enjoy the day! #joyofinclusion #inclusionexpansion #inclusionincludesyoutoo #InclusionontheSlopes #SWORDInclusionSystem #PhaseFourReviewWeekly

Women’s History Month is coming to a close but it's not over yet, and Citi Trends has more talented women to celebrate! This week we are shining a spotlight on Wendy, one of our Planners within the Allocation team. Wendy is a great team player and is always willing to step in and help where needed. We asked her a few questions about her career. Here is what she shared with us. Q: What do you love most about your job? A: What I love most about my job is that I'm constantly learning and growing through the projects, processes, and people I work with and engage in. I get to collaborate with passionate people who have diverse perspectives, and the opportunity to expand my knowledge base. It's incredibly rewarding to build businesses with my team that serves local communities. Q: What challenges have you faced in your career? A: One of the main challenges has been adapting to new technologies and evolving work environments. Keeping up with the latest trends and tools requires continuous learning and flexibility. Working in a fast-paced industry such as ours means that priorities can shift quickly, requiring me to stay agile and adaptable. Despite these challenges, I've found that each one has presented an opportunity for growth and development. Q: What has been your most meaningful accomplishment so far? A: My most meaningful accomplishments so far have been helping others achieve their goals and succeed by providing support and guidance. Q: What advice would you give someone who has just graduated from college and is starting their first job in their desired field? A: My advice would be to stay curious, be open to learning, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Take the time to understand company culture and seek out opportunities to grow and develop your skills. Build relationships with your colleagues and mentors, as they can provide valuable insights and guidance. Most importantly, believe in yourself and your abilities, and don't be discouraged by setbacks. #CitiTrends #womenshistorymonth #womenempowerment #careeradvice #LiveBold

"Throughout my academic journey in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, I have been deeply committed to not only honing my technical skills but also understanding the importance of aligning technology solutions with the needs of businesses and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. As an active member of the [Name of Computer Science Club or Society], I consistently advocated for projects and initiatives that emphasized the practical application of technology to address real-world business challenges. Whether it was developing software solutions for local businesses or collaborating with industry partners on research projects, I prioritized projects that fostered a deeper understanding of the intersection between technology and business needs. Through these experiences, I gained valuable insights into the importance of delivering impactful solutions that drive tangible value for organizations, while also sharpening my ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and translate technical concepts into business outcomes. In addition to my focus on business needs, I have always emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. As a student, I recognize that success is not solely defined by academic achievements or technical proficiency but also by personal well-being and fulfillment. Therefore, I have actively sought opportunities to engage in activities outside of academia that promote holistic development and overall well-being. Whether it's spending time with family and friends, pursuing hobbies and interests, or engaging in community service, I believe that a balanced approach to life not only enhances productivity and creativity but also fosters long-term happiness and success. By integrating these principles into my academic and extracurricular pursuits, I strive to not only excel in my studies and future career but also lead a fulfilling and purposeful life that positively impacts both myself and those around me."

"Gen Z is the 'fuck this job' generation." 💥 That's how Sofie, a 25-year-old, fresh out of university, kicked off our conversation about her generation's approach to work. Values & Respect: They won't stick around if they're not treated right. This generation knows their rights and values respect and meaningful work over sticking to a job just because. Connection & Diversity: Sofie pointed out that Gen Z wants to be connected, see diversity, and do work that matches their values.❤️ Self-Worth: They're saying, 'We matter more to companies than the companies do to us.' It's a bold statement, but reflects a broader feeling. Skepticism & Idealism: They're skeptical about the future but idealistic enough to push for a better one, rejecting the old 9 to 5 if it doesn't fit what they believe in. Changing Work: Gen Z's way of thinking is changing work for all of us, making things better. Companies that listen and adapt now will be the ones that thrive. 🌟 My chat with Sofie included some other great points on what Gen Z values at work - check the comment section for deeper insights. The future of work is here, and it's led by a generation ready to make a difference. 🌍 #GenZ #FutureOfWork #ChangeMakers #WorkplaceCulture #DiversityAndInclusion #CompanyCulture #DEI
