The Reuse Playbook for Sports and Entertainment is an incredibly valuable resource for venues looking to move away from single-use, particularly as the reuse movement grows exponentially around the world. I'd love to see more engagement in reuse from Canada's most popular sports and entertainment venues (Rogers Centre, Scotiabank Arena, BC Place and many more). As an avid concert-goer, I've seen firsthand how many single-use aluminum cups wastefully end up in the garbage and the worrying number of single-use plastic water bottles discarded post-event at venues across the country. The problem of single-use waste at events needs to be addressed urgently, and reuse is the answer! 💡 ⬇

Day 1,2,3,4...EPR is at the core! As a silent listener, here are a few takeaways from the INC-4: * EPR is an important tool in establishing a level playing field to fight plastic pollution * It creates the right incentives and fosters collaboration at local and global levels. More and more plastic producers/manufacturers are now advocating for EPR * Federal/National governments must play the role of collecting robust data to help set up effective EPR * Working with a patchwork of EPR is a nightmare for international companies * There was a big call out for harmonization of data, terminology, definitions and, metrics for EPR * No matter which options the treats moves forward with, facilitating a level playing field for small companies has to be at the core of the treaty I am headed back home viaRail now, but it will be interesting to see which options for EPR will be streamlined within the draft treaty. Contact Group 1 (and Subgroup 1.3) are facilitating these discussions. The biggest question in the grand scheme is whether the recommended EPR schemes will apply nationally or globally within the treaty. #INC4 #EXTENDEDPRODUCERRESPONSIBILITY #EPR #CIRCULARECONOMY

B Corp Month is coming to a close. And what a month it’s been. 🌍 Cooper Parry have spent March educating us on what it means to be a B Corp, and how we keep improving. The kids of the company took part in a recycling sculpture competition and I made seed bombs with a group of amazing colleagues, I am looking forwarding to seeing these bloom in the coming year.  It’s been a month of reflection, teaching and joy. What an experience to mark Our first B Corp month, as well as our certification anniversary. 🙌 To mark our 1-year anniversary, a scavenger hunt and celebration cheers was held across our offices today – a lovely way to appreciate the commitment that goes into our Impact Beyond Business from all CPers.
