I and many others here continue to foot stomp the coming changes with #cmmc. #smb organizations definitely are required to comply with the rule, just like their #midmarket and enterprise counterparts.

Will the DOJ go after small businesses for cybersecurity False Claims? I asked Alexander Canizares if size plays a role in DOJ considerations. "That is very much wishful thinking," he told us. Alex used a great example: PPP loan fraud. When it comes to False Claims, DOJ is more interested in the facts of the case than the size of the company. Quick reminder: SMBs make up ~75% of the defense industrial base. I don't think DOJ would announce their Cyber Civil Fraud Initiative with the idea that 3/4ths of DIB contractors were off-limits.

One thing that I have always appreciated about Phil Venables is that he always takes a firm position. ------------------- I never understand how someone in a cyber role can't/won't take a firm position on their infrastructure or their choices or their posture. ------------------ There is so much risk that can be mitigated and reduced by tech forward thinking and implementing. ------------------ It all comes down to trust and if you are arguing at all versus solutioning you will lose.
