"The Peña government has showed commitment, innovation, and some initial progress in addressing Paraguay’s complex, and multidimensional security challenges. Given the scope of the criminal flows through #Paraguay🇵🇾, questions over resources to support the government’s initiatives, and the weakness of Paraguayan institutions battling endemic corruption, Paraguay’s ability to make substantial gains over the long term is by no means clear. Paraguay’s success or failure in doing so will have significant implications for its neighbors, tied to Paraguay by those illicit flows, as well as the future of the country, and by extension, the United States and Taiwan, both of which rely on Paraguay as one of their few remaining close partners in the region". #TriBorderArea🇵🇾🇧🇷🇦🇷 #LaTripleFrontera

IS YOUR SUPPLY CHAIN FREE OF RUSSIAN ORIGIN SEAFOOD? If not, you should take action immediately. This bill prohibits Russian origin pollock, cod, salmon, and crab. This ammendment captures previously exempted seafood which has been reprocessed in third party countries. These species which enter the US are largely further processed in China, and country of origin label regulations indicate Product of China on the box, due to substantial transformation in that country. US President Biden signed the amended bill on December 22. US importers have 60 days from 12/22 to fulfill import contracts on these species, and may not enter into new contracts in order to bolster raw material supply. With Chinese New Year, and Lent on the horizon, supply chain will be further impacted with this timing. Is your seafood supply chain safe? Now is the time to act to mitigate any impacts that you may encounter. If you source these species from Trident, you are assured your fish is from US fisheries, whether it is shipped direct from Alaska, or further processed elsewhere. Regardless, this is a serious market change - engage with your Trident rep to plan your needs now. US CBP: ‘The Executive Order prevents the importation of products into the United States which contain fish and seafood from the Russian Federation, including fish and seafood harvested in the waters under the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation or by Russia-flagged vessels, regardless of country-of-origin label.’ #wildakpollock #alaskseafood https://lnkd.in/gzar8CHs

Important update by CNBC's Lori Ann LaRocco on the Red Sea terrorism that is impacting the US and European economies. According to the congressional testimony of a high level exec at the world’s largest shipping company, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, the impact of Houthi attacks on carriers in the Red Sea will be ‘far greater’ on consumer prices than on oil. At the same hearing, the National Retail Federation noted that smaller merchants are already passing along the freight increases (double, in many cases) to the consumer. The Biden administration's reluctance to defend U.S. shipping routes out of an innate reluctance to do anything militarily is not only sending the wrong message to the world, it will have immediate ramifications on the U.S. economy and consumer in the form of higher pricing. And its happening just when you thought inflation was starting to level out to a reasonable level. This is yet another of the costs of allowing terrorism to exist simply because it doesn't target you directly. Enabling and excusing the Iranian (and United Nations) funded Islamic terror in Israel - and then criticizing Israel for its efforts to combat it - simply encourages global terror and furthers the bloodlusting idea in the minds of the jihadists that the western world is ripe for destruction. Failure to protect trade routes from these terrorists reinforces their visions of global sharia domination - especially if the results are not only in longer lead times but in direct and substantial economic harm. #supplychain #freight #logistics #redsea #terrorism #israel #defendtraderoutes
