We've joined forces with other VCs Pitango, Viola Ventures, and Vintage Investment Partners, as well as big names like Marius Nacht and Chemi Peres, to challenge a decision that hits close to home for many of us in the tech world: the revocation of this year’s Israel Prize nomination from Mellanox Technologies's Co-Founder Eyal Waldman and others, citing the war in Gaza as the reason for the renege. The appeal, led by Shmuel Galinka and baruch mankovetsky from Shibolet & Co., emphasizes the Israel Prize's role in not just advancing science and innovation domestically, but also in showcasing Israel as a tech innovator globally. In these critical times, the tech sector, the "locomotive of the Israeli economy" which largely thrives on foreign investment, needs this recognition more than ever. Our collective stance, supported by 79 leaders in academia and business and further backed by 900 professionals, is clear. From 5 to 2000: a story of Sigma Software going global   IT Logs recently caught up with Dora Cseresnyes, CEO of Sigma Software Hungary, who gave a glimpse into how Sigma Software Group came to be. It all started back in 2002 with five partners from Kharkiv, a city in the East of Ukraine—Vlad Beck, Dmytro Vartanian, Valery Krasovsky, Volodymyr Chyrva, and Dmytro Zhuk—who had this big idea: not just to build an IT company but to shape the future of tech itself. What began as a local venture has become something much bigger. Joining the Swedish Sigma Group was a turning point, pushing us to expand and take on even more ambitious projects.   We’ve expanded not only geographically but also in our capabilities with key initiatives like Sigma Software University, which nurtures new tech talent, and Sigma Software Labs, our innovation hub turned venture capital fund that supports startups globally.
