From proving to moving! 🚀 🤖 I was honored to be a part of the AIDA3 Purdue smart crossways launch event and National Science Foundation (NSF) workshop that has informed the next set of design and use case considerations for the Purdue University unmanned aerial proving ground, furthering its commitment to safe and trustworthy AI-powered autonomous air vehicles. I was very impressed by the talks and #sim2real world demos detailing AIDA’s progress over the past 5 months! (Notice the small scale airport in the pics!) 🎤 My keynote speech emphasized how building trust in robotic and human cognition is required for safe scaling of smart operations - and that it can be earned through prolific testing and intelligent design of experiments toward ample test coverage. Saab embodies what it means to deploy safe and trusted solutions to defense and security challenges; our #Aerobahn collaborative decisionmaking and efficiency platform is deployed at over 40 airports with 5 million usage hours and climbing. I shared some personal experiences in trust, testing, cognitive overload, and autonomy from over the years… for better and for worse! ✈️ The Purdue unmanned aerial proving ground ecosystem enables full scope testing, not limited to traditional airports and corridors, but maximizing value in high volumes of low cost digital and indoor surrogate test environments to the largest extent possible (though owning an airport on campus helps too! 😉). During the launch event, it was very fun to see the smart operations center, which connects to all test environments, come to life based on the ambitious vision of AIDA founders. During my panel I focused my remarks around People. AIDA founders and the participants in the workshop make up the AIDA DNA across academia, industry and government and it was inspiring to refine objectives in more detail throughout our time together; the vision & determination of the #triplehelix team is apparent and infectious. Julia Great to read your approach to autonomous systems testing and employment. Keep pushing the envelope!
It was great to meet - there is a ton of ‘proving and moving’ to be done…..
LOVE this Julia Filiberti Allen! You are a true leader, creator, doer… from proving to moving!
Excellent to see!
That sounds awesome. My daughter and I just visited Purdue on Friday and Saturday of last week. I was really impressed.
