A little over a week ago, the MWC Technology Fair focusing on connectivity took place in Barcelona. Here are a few highlights from the perspective of the Oulu Automotive Cluster: ◾ There was a clear emphasis on software, with fewer visible physical components than before. Connected vehicles and tailored individual driving experiences supported by high level system integrations are in focus now. ◾ Future telecommunications networks are increasingly built with software, and it is now intriguing to witness advanced applications emerging from various industries. ◾ 5G private networks have gained traction, and new protocols such as RedCap enable cost-effective and dedicated solutions, especially for industrial environments. ◾ There were relatively few automotive manufacturers present, but entities like RadioPark and OuluZone, presented by RadioPark, garnered significant interest from the audience! ◾ Advanced testing environments, featuring high-quality network infrastructure and ready-made service models, are of great interest to stakeholders.
