Behind the scenes of recording this trend video: I had this trend bookmarked on my phone for a whole year before we finally got the chance to record it! Last summer, our internship program at Maspeth Federal Savings kept us so busy with events that we couldn't find the time to film. But I never gave up on my belief that social media in the banking industry could use a little more excitement! After posting a few successful trends, even our CEO hopped on board to record one for our company's Instagram. And guess what? In just one day, we reached a larger audience than we usually do with our regular reels, and we received almost 100 interactions! It just goes to show that fun content is also key on social media, no matter what industry you're in.

I had a great time yesterday morning volunteering at Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens! They are such a wonderful organization that helps people of all ages in the community. They asked for our help with an upcoming event that will provide school supplies to kids for the back-to-school season. It feels amazing to be able to have time to lend a hand to others in need. #volunteer

The second day of the 2024 Social Media Week was just as exciting as the first! Was discussed some really interesting topics, including: ➡ Fascinating insights into the power of social-first brands, like how 78% of users have made purchases after seeing a product in a TikTok video by a creator. Plus, did you know that 54% of US social network users aged 25-34 are projected to make purchases on social platforms this year? ➡ We also had an engaging workshop featuring Tiff Baird from @Streethearts, Davis Burleson from @whatspoppin , Michael Vito Valentino, and Sol Betesha from Fallen Media. They discussed how Gen Z is turned off by traditional ads and prefers content that feels genuine and with less CTAs.  ➡ Another highlight was learning about the rise of the creator economy and how it's become crucial for brands. Yes, that’s me on the court of Madison Square Garden registering some forever memories. I got to cover the St. John's University basketball game on the Maspeth Federal Savings social media channels. The best part? Stepping onto the court with the MFS President and CEO Thomas Rudzewick to honor the president of the Queens Chamber of Commerce with a signed ball from the St. John’s coach - Rick Pitino.
