At McDonald's, our Global Employee Town Halls are a moment for our teams from around the world to get together, celebrate our collective wins and rally around our journey ahead. I always look forward to them. Last week, we had the opportunity to do just that. Together, we were inspired by fellow colleagues and leaders that highlighted our commitment to excellence and innovation and underlined that every single employee is instrumental to our collective success. It’s moments like these that our core values come to life and prove that there’s never been a better time to be part of Brand McDonald’s. As an added bonus, our very own Rachel C. Hampton hosted the event, bringing energy and excitement to the stage and making everyone feel welcome. At our heart, McDonald’s is about bringing out the best in people so that we can bring the best of our brand to our customers. It’s an honor to share that I’ve joined the Board of Trustees for Ronald McDonald House Charities – a role I feel grateful to take on, knowing the profound impact #RMHC has on communities worldwide. Supporting families facing medical challenges is deeply personal to me, and throughout my time leading the McDonald's Global Impact team, I’ve been privileged to work alongside the talented leadership of RMHC. Their dedication to caring for families during some of life's most challenging moments makes a tangible impact in the lives of millions each year, and I couldn’t be more inspired to deepen my involvement in their mission.   As a Trustee, I’m committed to working with fellow board members and the talented team to uphold the RMHC mission to provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families and promote healing when children need healthcare. Last week, I was thrilled to celebrate #AANHPI Heritage Month with National ACE and the U.S. Department of Commerce. At McDonald's, we're proud to partner with National ACE in uplifting the AANHPI business community. Did you know that 95% of our restaurants worldwide are owned by local small business owners? Together with our franchisees, we're deeply invested in over 14,000 communities across the U.S., from our Archways to Opportunity program to bespoke community initiatives. I want to highlight the incredible work of the Asian McDonald’s Operators Association (AMOA), a network of entrepreneurs who support their community in countless ways, including establishing a $750,000 scholarship fund for AANHPI college students. Welcome to Worldwide! I’ve had a lot of “wow” moments since joining McDonald's almost two years ago – but this tops the list. For those who aren’t familiar, we host Worldwide every other year, bringing together franchisees, suppliers, employees and crew from all over the world to celebrate our wins and look ahead to the future of our business. I feel honored to be here with so many members of my team, all of whom have had a hand in shaping this special event. Yesterday, I also had the privilege of sharing the stage with Marion Gross and Desiree Ralls-Morrison to speak to the importance of community, and am grateful for Paul Hendel, Katie Fitzgerald and Tony D’Amato’s willingness to share examples of how our System shows up as a good neighbor in so many ways around the world. There’s nothing more inspiring than hearing how our franchisees, suppliers and restaurant teams are feeding and fostering their communities – and we look forward to sharing more of these inspiring stories.    To the members of my team who made #WW24 possible: Thank you for your tireless work and dedication. I think I speak for everyone in attendance that this is a Worldwide for the books! I can’t wait to see the next few days come to life.

Last week, we had the honor of hosting Chancellor Juan Salgado and the City Colleges of Chicago Leadership meeting at McDonald's Headquarters. I'm proud that our organizations share a commitment to advancing opportunity – whether that’s through education, employment or a combination of the two. It’s why we launched our U.S. Archways to Opportunity program in 2015, which offers college tuition assistance, English-language skills, a high school completion program and so much more. Through this program, McDonald’s and its franchisees have increased access to education for more than 82,500 people and awarded more than $185 million in tuition assistance.   Now, in partnership with City Colleges, we’re creating new opportunities through a McDonald’s apprenticeship program in Cyber Security. In fact, our first three apprentices – who are all completing programs at Wright College while working at MHQ – were able to join us to share more about their experience. Bianca Harmon, Takeisha Hamilton and Kimberly S.: I'm in awe of the work you’re doing and cannot wait to see what you do next. Your future is so bright! My first Shamrock Shake of the season! Here’s something you probably didn’t know about this seasonal menu item: In 1974, proceeds from the shake helped to open the very first Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia. The mission back then was simple but impactful – to give families a comfortable place to stay when they came to Philadelphia for their child’s medical needs. Today, 50 years later, Ronald McDonald House Charities has built a lasting legacy – one that supports millions of families around the world through nearly 700 programs in 62 countries and regions. I’m proud to work with the RMHC team every day as they support families before, during and after their child’s medical journey. Here’s to the inspiring ways you continue to remove barriers to healthcare and strengthen families, and to many more years of incredible work!
