Last week, we had the honor of hosting Chancellor Juan Salgado and the City Colleges of Chicago Leadership meeting at McDonald's Headquarters. I'm proud that our organizations share a commitment to advancing opportunity – whether that’s through education, employment or a combination of the two. It’s why we launched our U.S. Archways to Opportunity program in 2015, which offers college tuition assistance, English-language skills, a high school completion program and so much more. Through this program, McDonald’s and its franchisees have increased access to education for more than 82,500 people and awarded more than $185 million in tuition assistance. Now, in partnership with City Colleges, we’re creating new opportunities through a McDonald’s apprenticeship program in Cyber Security. In fact, our first three apprentices – who are all completing programs at Wright College while working at MHQ – were able to join us to share more about their experience. Bianca Harmon, Takeisha Hamilton and Kimberly S.: I'm in awe of the work you’re doing and cannot wait to see what you do next. Your future is so bright! Thank you to everyone at McDonald’s and City Colleges who had a part in bringing this event and partnership to life: Lisa (Hunt) Schumacher, Mike Gordon, Sanndy Teran, Roy Walker, III, Melissa Flores, Dr. Quintin Williams and the countless others who have touched this incredible work.
Thank you Jon! I’m excited to see what the future holds.
Thank you!
