Murray considers Avalon's success a 'shared achievement', where everyone has been able to grow the business and themselves alongside each other. It was refreshing to hear this opinion from a business owner like Murray, where the stereotype for someone in Murray's position has probably been the opposite, where entrepreneurs could be considered selfish, to exploit and are greedy. This opinion completely contradicts that and Murray is confident when he says he wouldn't be where he is now without a brilliant team. REGRET SUCKS!!  Over 75% of Entrepreneurs regret selling their business for the price they did within as little as 90 days after the transaction closes.  My opinion is this is caused by selling to early, selling for to little or not having a good experience during the acquisition process.  Deal fatigue is a real thing and most don’t understand how taxing the EXIT process is if you’re not fully prepared and have the wrong advisory team. The massive increase in franchisors, coaches, and consultants for residential and commercial property service-based businesses is mind-blowing. Some are bringing significant value to business owners. Some simply want ease and part of the large cake (market size) and will not last. Delivering a physical service at scale to property owners is challenging. Straight up challenging. It. is. hard. But, wow, can it be lucrative! It is encouraging to see former white collar professionals now leading blue collar businesses - being fulfilled in innumerable ways while also experiencing far superior financial rewards and freedom. Participation by sophisticated investors and private equity is escalating. Each of us will be in awe of pricing in 5 years to engage a service provider; it will be high! Few want to sweat. Few want to work on their hands and knees, even for 5 minutes. Few want blisters on their hands! Few want difficulty; society, more and more, wants instant gratification and an easy street.
