Why Invest In... Banksy Banksy is a world-renowned British artist who has single-handedly transformed street art into a widely appreciated genre by both art collectors and investors. The rise of Banksy in the early 2000s signalled an unprecedented acceptance of street art in contemporary art and culture, which has garnered Banksy both global attention and success. Here's a short excerpt from my article: We are all Civic Artists Adopting the definition of democracy as a creative process transforms everyone’s role into that of civic artist. Guided by a shared vision for social justice that has not yet manifested, through conscious practice we can develop the capacity to be changed by listening and receiving from others, while learning, like theatre artists, to accept that ideas may be preserved, built upon, edited, or edited out. As civic artists, our work becomes a daily, social practice of making, constructively reflecting on that making, then remaking “ways of being in space together that help us see beyond false constructs of superiority and inferiority without asking us to sacrifice what has shaped us" (Brown, 2021).  Democracy, therefore, as a social process horizontally activated by civic artists, can be considered the ultimate act of public creativity.

I agree with Laura Zabel (herself a formidable cultural and civic leader in the arts in the Twin Cities) - it’s heartening to see media coverage that attends to the living reality of artists. There are some exciting examples of innovative solutions in support of keeping artists in the cities they make culturally vibrant through their work. Policies like guaranteed basic income for artists are not unattainable and here are some early signs of successful implementation.

Looking at Canadian's renewing horizon From Pierre-Elliott to Justin, it's clear that Justice cannot be served as needed within the limits of The Rule of law. Law enforcement remains undisposed to serve Justice until Truth's Ministry of Reconciliation guides The Rule of law. Ok people, enough is enough. We must switch from Law Societies exclusive for lawyers, to all-inclusive Law Communities. The only one hope I see, is for Law Societies to become Law Communities that no longer excludes all other legal employees such as police forces and correctional employees as well as all person from the citizenship who ought to also have access to an open door in all meetings. The time for the 100% Protocol has arrived to serve Justice with Truth's Ministry of Reconciliation to oversee The Rule of law. Out of bureaucracy we go and back in the human touch first, then bureaucracy's automation can be put to serve Home Sovereignty No more lawyers in charge of our well being but rather, we replace the client-attorney privilege of secrecy with The Discretion Spectrum. Either Freedom of Speech runs on Speech of Freedom or else noise drowns out intelligence; democracy is drowning! Dori Tunstall published an article in Fast Company outlining three things companies can do to respectfully collaborate with Indigenous artists. 1. Have the humility to just ask "Humility requires that companies give up their sense of superiority and entitlement to approach Indigenous artists as equals. The first step is for companies to ask for collaboration instead of stealing ideas and artistic motifs (i.e. cultural appropriation)" 2. Get into alignment with Indigenous values "Indigenous relationships as the land, where the land and the people are one, represent values distinct from that of many companies, whose profits come from exploiting the land." 3. Share your platform and profits "At the center of decolonization is the willingness of European settlers and their descendants to share the land back with Indigenous peoples."
