COVID-19 infections have been increasing in the community this summer. The surge is being caused by new variants. Symptoms may look different from past infections, it spreads very easily, and it can cause severe illness in some individuals. It's important to take appropriate precautions to keep yourself and others safe. 😷 Wear a mask in crowded or indoor spaces. 🧼 Wash your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, particularly after social contacts. 🏠 Stay home if you have symptoms or have been exposed. 🔍 The latest variant, FLiRT, is spreading rapidly. Common symptoms include sore throat, headache, fatigue, and runny nose. Many people have also reported gastrointestinal symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. If you experience any of these, you can seek treatment by calling your doctor’s office or scheduling at one of our Urgent Care locations. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we will again require masking in some of our offices and hospital departments to protect patients, providers, and staff during this surge.
