CAREER CONFIDENCE PROGRAM 💪 Over the summer our Career Confidence Program - supporting our Diversity & Inclusion ambition for creating a fair path to progression for our ethnically diverse Partners - ended with a graduation event for over 80 Partners.💚 Run by Diversity in retail, the program started in February 2024 and took place over 15-weeks. It was designed for Partners to develop their skills and confidence. 🙌 Partner & Waitrose Team Manager, Kristine - who recently completed the program - spoke to us about how she has been positively encouraged by her achievement: “Completing the Career Confidence program with inclusion in has truly been transformative. I am now more confident in my capability to deliver results in any situation.” “This journey has helped me embrace my strengths, leading to significant personal and professional growth. Partner & Senior Product Engineer, Jamie tells us about his own journey. 👨💻 "My journey into tech and onto becoming a Senior Product Engineer began during secondary school where I joined a computer club - mainly driven by my enthusiasm for video games! This experience sparked my interest in computer science, leading me to pursue the subject at university." "I really thrived at university and took it further by doing a placement year at 3M where I focused on e-marketing. Following this, I spent a summer developing rail track measurement software, which offered valuable insight into different roles and projects within the industry." "During the time of my daughter's birth, I was in a role at another company, but the main contributing factor in my decision to transition employer was the need to reduce my extensive commuting. As many parents can attest to, those moments with your children are so precious, and I really wanted to spend as much time as possible with her." "The Partnership’s values and ethics resonated with my personal beliefs. Unlike traditional profit-driven companies, the Partnership’s mission involves reinvesting profits into the organisation and the community.
