What a great podcast episode (and Lenny's Newsletter is generally excellent). We all benefit from being able to tell a good story, both personally and professionally, and there is so much actionable advice in this episode. When I was looking for my first job in climate tech, I followed a lot of advice posted by Austin Belcak. A great tip from him is when interviewing, prepare for the standard questions by having a personal story to tell for each one. In addition to helping build rapport, ideally those stories excite you as well, and you can share your energy and enthusiasm with your interviewer.

"The story we tell ourselves is what matters most." I love this quote from Blake Hudson's interview on Zoya Segelbacher and Caroline Jones' podcast Rep Matters. This hit home for me, as building something new often comes with a hefty dose of imposter syndrome. My inner critic whispers, "You're not good enough. You don't have enough experience. You can't make it." But here's the thing: that story isn't true! We all have something valuable to contribute. We may be "rookies," but as Blake reminds us, "rookies win championships too." So, what story are YOU telling yourself? Are you focusing on the gaps in your knowledge or celebrating your unique perspective? Are you letting self-doubt hold you back, or are you pushing forward with confidence that your voice matters? Don't let the story you tell yourself bring you down. You have something to offer! P.S. I definitely recommend checking out the full interview; it's packed with so much wisdom! 🎙 #mindset #growth ----- Follow Paty Araiza💡 for inspiring content to help you cultivate a more positive mindset.
