🌟🏳️🌈 Thrilled to have been part of today's #OpenConference organised by WeAreOpen - Nyitottak vagyunk, where I had the honor of engaging in meaningful dialogue with Sylwia Kaczmarek, #MateHegedus, and Ádám András Kanicsár. Our topic? Strategies for mobilizing employees to cultivate an inclusive workspace. 🌟🏳️🌈 My takeaways: 1️⃣ Don't focus only on a small resource group. Broadening the circle of allies can exponentially amplify your impact! 🤝 2️⃣ Consider offering something valuable to the entire organization that also highlights your unique perspective. For instance, hosting a webinar for parents of LGBTQ+ kids can not only educate but also foster a more supportive work environment👨👩👧👦 3️⃣ If you're a leader from the LGBTQ+ community, use your platform to open doors for others. I'm proud and honored to be featured in the 2023 Outstanding 100 LGBTQ+ Future Leaders Role Model List, supported by YouTube. These global lists by INvolve - The Inclusion People celebrate LGBTQ+ trailblazers driving positive change in business.   My motivation for #DEI work is simple: to be a beacon of hope. I've faced significant bullying and anxiety related to coming out, before I learned to turn my identity into a strength. Not everyone's journey is easy, however. There are far too many people hiding parts of themselves, living a lie or even giving up on life altogether.   This recognition is dedicated to a friend who didn't make it, who was forced to make choices he should've never had to make in the first place.   For him, I'm using this chance to spread awareness and create safe spaces to talk about these topics. I feel bothered... Why do we ignore the word Intersectional? Is it because it's easier to focus on one aspect of a person, rather than acknowledging the multiple layers that make up their identity? As we strive towards creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace, we must recognise the importance of intersectionality. For instance, being Neurodiverse or LGBTQ+ is not just about one aspect of a person's identity. It's about noticing the multiple layers of those around us and understanding the other barriers that people might face and how your actions Intersect to truly create an equal and equitable D&I strategy. I will say I don't think it's good enough for us to just focus on one aspect of that community and I will continue to shout in webinars and events at the importance of understanding that regardless of whatever you do if it does not serve all marginalised groups then it's not truly equal. #Intersectionality #DiversityandInclusion #Neurodiversity #LGBTQ+ #belonging #antiracism

Today is National Coming Out Day. I am honoring the courageous LGBTQ+ people from the past, present, and future who are laying the foundation for more rights and greater acceptance for our community. ✅ Coming out is an act of courage and bravery in a world that often sees queer people as deviant. ✅ Coming out is an awakening of the authentic being hidden beneath the surface. ✅ Coming out is an act of faith and resilience in the face of the unknown and potential loss of family, friends, career, and life. ✅ Coming out is a metamorphosis of a past identity and creating space for a new identity. ✅ Coming out is an act of love for oneself and one’s relationships with others. ✅ Coming out is an act of leadership influencing the people and institutions around us to be more inclusive of differences. It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Roger Wilson to run an expert session at our Vistage UK meeting yesterday. We learnt so much from this informative session, we asked the difficult questions and were honest about how our own belief systems might be holding us back. Diversity isn't just about visible differences; it's about honoring every individual's unique identity, including those in the LGBTQ+ community. Embracing LGBTQ+ diversity enriches our workplaces, fostering creativity, empathy, and a culture of acceptance. 🌈 Day of Silence 🌈   Today, I stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community on the Day of Silence. It’s a momentous occasion to Rise Up and Take Action against the bullying and discrimination faced by individuals based on who they are or who they love, including the reprehensible act of bullying children by adults.   This day holds profound personal significance for me. I have witnessed firsthand the challenges and pain that my family members faced due to bullying and prejudice, often exacerbated by adults who should have been their protectors. Seeing their resilience in the face of such adversity has fueled my passion for advocating for equality and inclusion.   The Day of Silence empowers us to reflect on the impact of silence in the face of injustice. It’s a call to action to break the silence, speak up, and create a world where everyone can live authentically without fear of discrimination or harm, especially our most vulnerable – our children.   Let’s use this day as a catalyst for change.
