I'm happy to announce that I have completed my summer internship at United Sewing and Design as a finance and marketing intern. This experience has been incredibly valuable in helping me understand my passion and develop career skills. Key experiences: Learning technical skills: I was introduced to many software that I needed to learn in order to fulfill my tasks, and having deadlines and metrics to meet has been a key motivator and accelerator to learning those skills. Approaching Challenges: This internship has given me the opportunity to approach real-world challenges in business. Through the help of my supervisor, I learned how to tackle and overcome obstacles that arose during the internship period. Transferrable skills: I'm majoring in engineering and my initial thoughts during my internship were "What I learned in class won't apply to what I'm doing right now" but I have found that to be false, I found myself using the problem-solving skills I learned In class in my everyday tasks. Going into my sophomore year at Trinity I now have a better understanding on what to value and focus on more to align my academic and career goals. I'm immensely grateful for this internship opportunity and look forward to what the future holds.
