I think the entire #linkedincommunity is at its best when focused on supporting others in the pursuit of goals. Do you agree? Gregory Bebbington, a dear friend and recent guest on #comfychairspodcast, has a BIG goal this year: ✨ Complete #pelotonia for the tenth year in a row—AND raise $10k to honor his late wife, Melissa. ✨ Let’s break it down: 🚴♂️10 endurance races is a big deal. (IYKYK) 💰Fundraising for a charity is a big endeavor. (#teamintraining alum here and I can vouch for it). 💞Sharing your why can be a big challenge. (We’ve all been there.) This is a chance to show up in big ways to support a great cause! Obviously, donations will go a long way, but there are so many ways to support a goal like this: ➡️ Amplify the cause—whether it’s Greg’s participation or someone in your own life. ➡️ Consider participating yourself. ➡️ Send your thoughts and prayers to everyone training for the race. (This is the right use for those!) ➡️ Take charge of your own health and get educated on cancer screening. Whatever way you can support, I know it will have a big impact!

Falling down a flight of stairs today reminded me of the fragility of life. However, determination and consistency are key to achieving any goal. I’m incredibly proud to volunteer, campaign, fundraise and - for the last year - to work in a professional capacity for Cancer Research UK (CRUK). Every single day, I read and hear very personal, precious stories about people touched by cancer. But I also see the remarkable progress we are making together to tackle cancer - from discovery science through to prevention, earlier diagnosis and better, kinder treatments. #TogetherWeAreBeatingCancer👇 I’m especially proud of the success we have had tackling the biggest cause of cancer - smoking: the only legal consumer product which, when used as intended by the manufacturers, kills most long term users. Tobacco caused my dad’s lung cancer and his death aged just 66.👇 Our #SmokefreeUK campaign brings the voices of our incredible Campaigns Ambassadors, with their lived experiences, passion and determination, to amplify our evidence based policy calls, recommendations and to effect real change.
