Children and young people make up the majority of those displaced and it is the young who are bearing the brunt of the world’s conflicts. These young people lose more than their homes, they lose their education, their dreams of work and progression in life. Young people who are displaced face huge challenges to access even their most basic rights. But it is these same young people who are the ones already mobilising to help their families and communities. We need to invest more in their strengths and passion for self-reliance. We need to see more investment in initiatives led by displaced youth, to partner with them, and trust in their ability to help bring about the long-term change the world needs to see.
