To understand Zionism as an ideology that leads to genocide it is important to understand Herzl’s social and political thought and his advocacy of Nationalism and Socialism long before the white sepremacy ideology of the Third Reich Nazi’s led to genocide.

Since #October7th, there has been a noticeable increase in antisemitism, a widely acknowledged fact. For #Jews, the current landscape feels notably more precarious. The European Jewish Association has been actively advocating for our communities across various fronts, particularly in the political sphere, where challenges are abundant. It has become increasingly apparent to our communities that we have been left to navigate these challenges largely independently. Despite the adoption of numerous IHRA definitions and plans to combat #antisemitism, there has been minimal progress on the ground in terms of prosecutions or arrests. As succinctly stated by one community leader, these efforts seem futile. While our Association possesses a range of skills, we recognise the unique and invaluable expertise that #JewishLawyers bring. With their deep understanding of legal systems within their respective countries, they can offer practical suggestions within existing frameworks to strengthen these plans and definitions. We seek not only their insights but also their contributions to potential solutions or ideas for legislative changes to address the urgent issue of antisemitism levels in parts of Europe reminiscent of those witnessed in 1939. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The European Jewish Association is a prominent and influential organisation dedicated to representing, advocating for, and fostering the interests of the Jewish community across Europe. Religious faith can offer comfort during tough times—unless the crisis involves abuse by a clergy member. Unfortunately, abuse within religious institutions is a reality many face but few speak about. All thoughts are my own & not a representation of any organization I'm affiliated with: I don't usually do this. However, I have a lot on my mind about the next DEIB PD session I'm designing for our team. It is about Allyship. It was designed ahead of what's happening in Palestine & Gaza right now, although it's been happening for decades. A topic I have tip toed around in the past because folks will always dismiss it as "too complicated," and/or folks would tell me, "this isn't a college campus, you will likely not find work," etc. etc. I have always agreed to disagree and keep going. However, as someone who believes in #diversity, #equity, #inclusion, and #belonging, I cannot in good conscience talk about #allyship without talking about how being an ally for social justice means understanding you cannot pick & choose when to show up as an ally. If you have hashtagged #StopAsianHate, #BLM and/or spoke up for Ukraine, you cannot silence your voice now as the death toll of Palestinians is 6,000+ and counting. The selective allyship, selective empathy, and spreading of false narratives is what fuels a 6 year old in Chicago to be stabbed by a white landlord. The rhetoric being used is one that perpetuates violence and not holding those around us accountable to think critically, to understand that this is a genocide in the making for decades is in fact perpetuating the violence. To be unwilling to look at resources, fact check, and continue to diminish this to a religious conflict that is too complex is UNACCEPTABLE as our tax dollars are funding this. The UN has named the countless war crimes of Israel. The silence is deafening and the consequence is being endured by countless innocent lives. So I urge folks to: - LEARN. Boycott brands like Starbucks who support this genocide. - HAVE THE HARD CONVERSATIONS. Especially with those around you who are misinformed. - CREATE SPACES OF SAFETY FOR ALL, ESP. YOUR MUSLIM COMMUNITY MEMBERS. Seeing and hearing stories of women in hijabs already feeling as though their lives are in danger IN THE US is NOT OKAY. I urge everyone to understand what is happening and form an opinion based on facts & evidence as opposed to a media & country that is perpetuating a false narrative. I urge anyone who believes in DEIB to not be silent as being silent perpetuates the violence.
