Dear LinkedIn Community,
I hope this post finds you well. I'm reaching out to share a concerning matter regarding the recent recruitment process for the Airworthiness Officer vacancy (Vacancy No. 23061201624) at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA India), by Union Public Service Commission.
Under Union Public Service Commission advertisement number 12/2023, the recruitment process underwent several stages, including applicant evaluation, final scrutiny, personal interviews, and result announcements. However, notable anomalies have surfaced that demand our immediate attention.
Upon review, it was discovered that certain candidates were shortlisted by submission of fake B.Tech Aeronautical Degree certificate. It's worth noting that since 2016, a significant number of Aeronautical Engineering graduates entering the market possess certificates from universities such as Rajasthan Technical University, Singhania University, and Sun Rise University. These universities offer a lateral entry option for B.Tech Aeronautical Engineering, specifically tailored for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) course completed candidates, allowing them to obtain certificates within 18 months. However, concerns have been raised regarding the validity and adherence to AICTE norms for admission to B.Tech./B.E. Degree programs (RTI with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and University Grants Commission (UGC) confirmed that no collages are allowed to provide B.Tech./B.E. Degree programs through distance mode).
Despite attempts to address these issues by the genuine candidates who got sidelined, no response or action has been received from DGCA or UPSC or Ministry of Civil Aviation. We urge both institutions to take immediate action to rectify these anomalies and provide transparent updates on the proceedings, and ban those universities issuing the non-approved certifications to the market.
It is to note that during 2018 recruitment 3-4 candidates had similar certificates. Latest ongoing recruitment, it went up to appx. 50%. If similar trend is continuing all genuine Aeronautical Engineers in India will loose their opportunities against these fake certificate holders. So, our collective efforts are essential in ensuring that no fake certificates issued in the upcoming years.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
