Acting Secretary of Labor at U.S. Department of Labor

Every worker has the right to come home healthy and safe at the end of the day. Today, we're taking steps to make that a reality. We are proposing stronger standards to protect outdoor AND indoor workers from heat illness across the country. As temperatures rise, workers need water breaks, they need appropriate break areas, and they need to know that they won’t face retaliation if they need to take a break. These are common sense protections that we can all get behind, workers and employers alike. The threat of extreme heat is not going anywhere. This administration knows that workers need protections in place NOW to ensure that they are treated with dignity to prevent heat illness. We know that for the families who have lost a loved one and the many more who have been impacted by heat-related illness, this proposed rule is a long time coming. https://lnkd.in/epFNsUCa
