Earlier this week, I had the privilege of spending time with many of our firm's top advisors at the annual Merrill Lynch Private Wealth Management Conference in Los Angeles. I am honored to work with such an accomplished group of professionals and help them address the complex fiduciary needs of our UHNW clients. Thank you to the Merrill and PWM leadership teams - Lindsay Hans, Eric Schimpf, Gregory McGauley, and Liam O'Neil - for counting me among your partners. My fellow presenters and I had a great time reprising the UHNW specialist panel. Thanks to Jeff Busconi, Dianne Chipps Bailey, Drew Watson, and Valerie Galinskaya for a great onstage discussion! Many new connections were made and I'm looking forward to the follow up conversations!

It Was The Best of Times It Was The Best Of Times We recently attended AssetMark’s Leadership Advantage meeting in Nashville. This is a program designed to help ensemble financial service practices better serve the advisors that work with them. It highlights skills and industry insights that are relevant in the ever-changing world we live in. Among the many takeaways, one was the significant opportunity in our industry if you are a mature advisor or a new advisor. If you are a veteran, there has never been a better time to seize the value of your practice and the impact you bring to your clients. Well-run firms hold tremendous value in our industry right now. If you are an advisor that is new to the industry, there is an amazing opportunity for you too. Statistics from a recent Cerulli article was highlighted. Over the next decade, 109,093 advisors plan to retire, comprising 37.5% of industry headcount and 41.5% of total assets. Studies show that financial advisors aged 30 to 40 represent 27% of the population, and young financial advisors aged 20 to 30 make up only 10%. This is a HUGE opportunity for a young financial advisor. There are a significant number of veteran advisors that need a continuity plan.
