#thursdayQA This week, a pertinent question arose about races being cancelled due to bad weather in Germany. What to do now? 🌧️ If weather forces a last-minute cancellation after all your training and preparation, turning disappointment into an opportunity is key. My recommendation? DIY your own race! 🏊♂️🚴♂️🏃♂️ Even without official organization, challenge yourself or invite friends for a mini-race. Drive to the nearest pool, lake or sea, wet up transitions in your car, push your limits, and compare swim, bike, run speeds. It is a great way to test your transitions. You might not get a medal and official finish, but you can use this to test your limits. Lewis Hamilton: A Role Model for Determination, Longevity, Consistency, and Fortitude I've been asked about my role model multiple times before, and without fail, I always answer Lewis Hamilton. Although my close friends all know me as an avid #LH44 and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team fan, only recently did a friend ask the question... WHY?? 🤔 And it got me thinking. Is it... ❓ The huge fan following ❓ The scintillating rags-to-riches story (who doesn't love those) ❓ The incredible comeback Well, I mean, there are celebrities and stars with more fans, great childhood stories, and incredible comebacks. He personifies 4 qualities;  #determination  #longevity  #consistency and #fortitude in a way I can relate to. He is the only F1 driver to be of black origin and also to reach 100 wins 🥇 and 100 poles. You could say "Its the car" but to win 7 titles🏆, tie the then reigning champ on points as a #rookie and take 6 #title deciders into the last race is something only the greatest can do. Drawing Parallels to the Founder Mindset Through his meteoric rise, we can draw many parallels to his performance mindset and the founder mindset: 🏎 Keeping motivation: We sometimes lose hope in #failure and #motivation in success. LH lost his eighth title on the last lap in 2021, but still got out to congratulate the champ with a smile. A dismal 2022 season sparked retirement doubts only for LH to secure P3 in 2023 with only the third fastest car. 🏎 Working with the problem: LH faced drivability issues in 2022 and sacrificed the first half of his season to run sensors and get data for the team. He lost many streaks of his career, but gave valuable groundwork for his team. 🏎 Performance mindset: He switches to his high performance #alter-ego with the magic words "It's Hammer time." He can come on Thursday like a blinged-up #supermodel and light up the timing screens on Saturday in racing overalls. 🏎 Nerves of steel: "When the going gets tough, the tough gets going." LH's remarkable ability to dig deep in the second half of the season is a thing of legend. He has levelled points with back-to-back race wins on several occasions, most notably 2021, showing composure and drive. We need our role models to be extensions of our goals and values or personifications of our ideologies. To be a #pedestal onto which efforts in their entirety can be aimed at. This, coupled with the fact that they show how even the most unimaginable goals are achievable, makes it even more important to have the right role model in life.
