At Jarvis, we believe in family. Our company has been handed down from one generation to the next. We have employees who have been here 20, 30, 40 years or more. We’re proud of our employees and the work we do. When the company does well, we all benefit.

Best@being a Human Being | Seasoned T-V Shaped HR Professional |Thought Leadership, Research & Advisory Enthusiast | Experienced in Banking Roles|COE Performance Management, Recognition, Events, L&D, Coaching & Mentoring
This Monday, 4th March 2024, we woke up to more injuries, deaths, and loved ones holding onto the lifeless bodies of their children, feeling the agonizing helplessness. Three months into 2024, there seems to be nothing worthwhile celebrating. As we approach Ramadan, when our brothers and sisters are being killed by bombs and starvation, it's crucial to reflect on what is truly worth celebrating. In the context of workplace recognitions, celebrations, and awards, it's essential to consider how these events align with our values and humanity. Winning a trophy while choosing not to speak up for those who are suffering raises questions about the true meaning of success. How can we celebrate when we fail at the most basic aspect of being human—compassion and empathy for others?

Striving to combine the heart of business with the heart of Reconciliation through Indigenous creativity, innovation, story-telling and knowledge sharing.
#CSR strategies don’t need to be overthought. Sometimes it is just about your people and placing value in them.
"”Every company, more now than a decade ago, has to win the minds and hearts of its employees who consider it their birthright not simply to bring home a paycheck but to feel satisfied by the work they do," they wrote. Taking care of your people means giving them a sense of purpose and a mission.” https://lnkd.in/gr__CnaE

Happy Saturday and day 3 ! My favorite topic: 3. Empower Your Team**: Foster a culture of ownership and accountability among your team members. Encourage open communication, provide ongoing training and support, and empower employees to take ownership of their roles in driving KPIs. For example we make employee of the month a really big deal. We set goals for phlebotomist success rates weekly with rewards and recognition. We make area area challenges and encourage our staff too volunteer in our community monthly. Recently I had to give an explanation as to why I had a high CPL when it comes to staffing but I also have the lowest turnover. It’s a fine line we balance between cost and employee morale but the way I feel is we always have to remember that everything we do revolves around people. From the donor , the employee, the production of the product and to the patient who receives our product. We can’t get lost in spreadsheets and analytics and forget about joy and purpose in our people. Have a blessed day !

In my role as a vertrouwenspersoon/trusted person, I've seen firsthand the power of trust and early intervention in the workplace. It's heartening when colleagues seek support early, allowing us to navigate challenges together. Yet, it's deeply saddening when individuals come forward only after deciding to leave our organization, limiting our ability to help beyond sharing in their grief. Having served as a vertrouwenspersoon/trusted person for seven years, I've learned the critical importance of this role in fostering a supportive, open work environment. It's not about accolades but about making a real difference in our colleagues' lives and our organizational culture. I encourage more of you to consider becoming a vertrouwenspersoon/trusted person. It's an opportunity to be a beacon of support and contribute to a workplace where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered to thrive. Let's together create a culture of trust and openness that benefits us all.

Happy Labor Day! Today, we celebrate the backbone of our nation—the hard-working men and women who power our economy and drive our businesses forward. As we take a well-deserved break, let’s reflect on the true meaning of this day. It's about grit. It's about the determination to show up every day and give your best, no matter the challenges. The people who hustle, innovate, and push the envelope are the ones who make a difference. But remember, it’s not just about working hard—it's about working smart. Seek opportunities to learn, grow, and stretch your capabilities. That's where true success lies. So, while you enjoy the long weekend, think about how you can return on Tuesday with renewed energy and a relentless drive to be better than you were yesterday. Greatness isn't just a goal; it's a habit, built day by day, by each and every one of us. Here's to the dreamers, the doers, and the difference-makers. Happy Labor Day!
