Thanks Jared. Any idea whether the drop in MS policies is due to a higher lapse rate on the existing block (existing policyholders moving to MA) or just because of fewer new policies to offset deaths as more new members choose MA? When I looked at UHC experience years ago the lapse rate stayed in the single digits for many policy durations. They could also be seeing the effect of recent rate change activity.
Absolutely maddening the profit margin trend as access to care for patients and practitioner profit margins continue to decline.
Crappy customer service .

8moHaving worked as a broker manager for several carriers in my 36+ years in insurance, United was never one of them. Now as a broker, it is my go to for Duals, who have often have higher expectations and many chronic needs. Requiring a well oiled and smooth running machine. Whether you like UHC or hate them(if you compete against them), they lead the industry in technology, networks, innovation, customer service, training, delivering on the promise, ease of access to supplemental benefits that actually work…. I’ll stop there. But I am honestly say all the other carriers I’ve worked for as an employee didn’t come close. UHC was built brick by brick on sold ground with materials to weather just about any storm. When I write an app with UHC, I don’t get 5 problems out of the gate(often unresolved), after enrolling someone. As a broker renewals, integrity, transparency, and stability are paramount. For me, UHC checks every box, and I know a member I sign on with UHC stays with me & UHC long term. Are they perfect? No. But darn close.
