Recently I shared with one person, that our game "Match League" (links bellow) is made by 3 people and he corrected me "You mean only 3 developers??" I replied, "No -- one developer, one artist and one jack of all trades". He thought I lie through my teeth" 🤣 The funniest part? We haven't been working crazy hours, normal 40-50 hours a week. What is our secret? - Efficiency through preparation! Once the GDD is ready and locked, we have only 1 meeting in Monday, up to max 30 minutes to overview it. Yes, 1 meeting! and this has been for quite a while. We also keep the written communication little as possible, not as goal, but because when the GDD is good, there is rarely a need to communicate, except to check on your teammate how he/she is doing. - Don't hire people, who create friction in the team. It sounds logical, but it's astonishing to me the comparison when we were 10+ people in another porject, still quite small team, but there were personalities who managed to create so much conflict that the production speed was the same as just 3 people.
