The CME session at Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (IOG) Hospital, attended by esteemed Director Dr. K. Kalaivani, along with 20 leading doctors, professors, and over 40 passionate PG students was a successful one. Dr. K. I have never regretted, for a moment, choosing to work in #obstetrics and #gynecology." She emphasized the significance of labor in #healthcare, stating, "Labor is very important. Half of our population are women. Most of these women, over 85%, will have one baby and sometimes more so labor affects a huge segment of our population." Dr. Hamilton discussed the limitations of current labor curves, emphasizing the need for more accurate and precise methods of assessment. Her team's labor curve, incorporating seven key factors, offers a statistically sound approach to estimating labor progression, providing clinicians with invaluable insights into their patients' labor trajectories. 💡 Regarding the clinical implications, Dr. Hamilton noted, "If you have a more accurate and precise way of assessing labor, then the interventions could be done in a more consistent fashion."
