I see so much noise about sequences - but the thing about sequences is 99.5% of the time they are tied to a contact. And I'd say MOST of the time, the rep hasn't even figured out if that contact is the right person to be speaking to. Then I hear people hating on talking to 'gatekeepers'. People can't get past a 'gatekeeper'. Sure... but how bout we ban the term gatekeeper and just say "receptionist" or "company assistant" or something. Don't get me wrong, I've got a good way to just ask for a name bluntly and then throw in a few interruptions to get a receptionist to put me straight through to someone... But also receptionists HELP me so much. I've got a go-to script I've developed to get receptionists to open up and want to help me figure out who I need to talk to. The way I see it this saves me a ton of time, wasted effort, useless emails sent that get marked spam, etc. So how about we go to battle side by side with a friend, instead of going to war with the "GK".

Here's how to fix the top 3 mistakes every roofer makes! 🛠️🚫 1️⃣ No Receptionist: You're on the roof, phone rings, you can't answer. 📞 Guess what? That caller moves on to the next roofer, and you've just lost a potential $20K job. 🏠 Solution? Have someone answer the phone 24/7. 📞 2️⃣ No Calendar System: Even if you have a receptionist, they're chasing customers for appointments. 🗓️ A simple online calendar lets customers book themselves, saving you time and hassle. ⏰ 3️⃣ Juggling Too Much: You're trying to do it all—paperwork, managing the crew, and more. 🤹♂️ Get a virtual assistant to handle the admin, freeing up 20 to 40 hours a week for you to focus on revenue-generating tasks. 🛠️💰 Avoid these common pitfalls and watch your roofing business soar! 🚀 #roofing #roofingservices #roofingspecialists #roofingprofessionals #roofingcompany #roofingexperts #businesstips #businessgrowth #businessstrategy

A front desk receptionist plays a crucial role in any organization. Here are some key reasons why they are so important: First Impressions: They are often the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and patients, setting the tone for the entire interaction. A friendly and professional receptionist can create a positive first impression. Information Management: Receptionists manage the flow of information within the organization. They handle phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries, ensuring that communication is smooth and efficient. Administrative Support: They perform various administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling correspondence. This support is essential for the smooth operation of the office. Security: Receptionists play a role in maintaining office security by monitoring access, issuing visitor badges, and following safety procedures. Customer Service: They provide basic support to visitors, such as directing them to the right person or office, offering refreshments, and answering questions. This helps in creating a welcoming and supportive environment. Overall, a front desk receptionist is indispensable in ensuring that an organization runs efficiently and that visitors have a positive experience.

Sometimes you need to stretch your business to benefit your staff. My now former (licensed) receptionist had been asking about advancing into a Service Broker role. As we are getting into busy season I hired a part-timer to do some reception/light clerical work so the full timer receptionist could start learning service broker stuff. That was 82 days ago. Today my “part-time” receptionist is starting full time work, including getting her license, and my now former receptionist is diving into full time service broker work. Do I need another service broker? Not really. Can I afford to stretch a bit and see what happens? Absolutely. Worst case scenario I’m out 40k plus benefits. Best case scenario I’ve got a new receptionist who wants to grow and my old receptionist who wanted to grow is going to help the company grow. I will update on how this worked out for everyone at the end of the year!

there are two critical elements involved in this position. The balance between security duties and receptionist responsibilities varies by employer. security receptionists should be prepared to meet the following expectations: Greet Visitors Security receptionists are positioned at entranceways to welcome everyone who comes through the door. Establishing contact serves several purposes. Visitors can state why they are there, and the security receptionist can guide them to the appropriate destination or perform an action such as signing for packages. The security receptionist’s presence and interest also subtly tells strangers that someone is keeping an eye on them.
