I'll be walking in memory of my grandfather Frank who lost his battle with Hodgkin Lymphoma. Children all over the city are experiencing barriers to holistic education every day. Be it lack of funds or lack of transportation; young students and their families are unable to access early childhood education opportunities. Especially when it comes to music programming. At the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, we believe in meeting our students where they are in order to circumvent these barriers. We send our teachers directly to locations where students and families already frequent, and through our incredible community partnerships we are able to serve thousands of students every year. This year, with support from the Herzfeld Foundation, WCM began a partnership with Next Door, an early childhood education center that “supports the intellectual, physical and emotional development of children by partnering with their families for success in school and the community.” We are excited to announce that your donation will be doubled through a matching gift of $25,000, graciously donated by the Schwartz Foundation! There are many more students and families that want and deserve access to early childhood music education. Your generosity creates this access, breaks down barriers, and puts music into the lives of Milwaukee residents across the city!
