For a long time, I thought I was irreplaceable at work. I was the expert, the go-to person for everything. I believed that if I left, the whole system would crumble. But then, one day, I bought a diary with a quote that changed everything: "If you think you are the smartest person in the room, change the room." Goosebumps ran down my spine. I realized that I had been limiting myself by comparing myself to my colleagues. I was stuck in a small room, thinking I was the king. But what if there was a bigger room, a world of possibilities I hadn't even considered? I started thinking about my goals, my aspirations. What did I truly want to achieve? Was I competing with my colleagues to prove myself, or was I trying to be the best I could be? The answer was clear: I needed to compete with myself. To be satisfied, I had to strive for excellence. That day, I decided to change my mindset. I would no longer see my colleagues as rivals but as opportunities to learn and grow. I would focus on improving my skills, exploring new ideas, and pushing myself to be the best version of myself. It was a new way of thinking, and it was exciting. I realized that the biggest obstacle to my success wasn't my colleagues, but my own limitations. By stepping out of my comfort zone and challenging myself, I could unlock a world of possibilities. The journey to becoming the best version of myself had just begun ⌛

Acknowledge your growth and keep a record of your achievements to revisit when you're feeling unappreciated. 🔶 Sometimes the reward is in the results. Did your work make a positive difference? Did it help a client or improve a process? Focusing on the impact of your contribution can be a great motivator. 🔶 If you consistently feel unseen, have a conversation with your manager. Express your desire for recognition and discuss what forms that could take (public praise, bonuses, etc.). Remember, a positive and proactive approach is key!
