It’s a conference where different perspectives, including the Global South, will be reflected. I am proud to be part of it. We translate more and more realities into algorithms, but we also should “retranslate” it into needed activities. Transparency is the starting point. Stability in global supply chains is only possible when the “first mile” has stability and a better income. Let’s talk about it in Mannheim.

The “Sustainable Minds” are our corporate ambassador network with which we want to drive forward our Sustainability Strategy 2030 in our worldwide group of companies. The mission and motivation of the “Sustainable Minds” is to exchange knowledge about sustainability, share practical examples of social and ecological commitment and develop new ideas. As a global community of around 50 employees from all hierarchical levels, they have an advisory, support and interface function in our governance structure for sustainability. “We are working towards anchoring our sustainability strategy at Gebr. Heinemann in the consciousness of each and every one and advancing the associated goals and measures with all our strength. ➡️ Stakeholder Engagement should be fun 🥳! #TLDR Last week I met with Sandrine Ramboux, CFA from FutureWise Partners, and we we had a great exchange about sustainability in companies in general and about stakeholder management specifically. One thing she mentioned resonated quite strongly with me: that stakeholder engagement should be fun. I have to say, I couldn’t agree more! 💯 Obviously, most stakeholder processes of a company start with a regulatory need, the motive to strengthen your license to operate or the search for innovation in the business case (and in some cases are even value driven and seek a transparent dialogue). But - be honest - how much is really invested in making these interactions engaging, motivating or inspiring? And yet this is, what makes the difference in the end: a relaxed, fun and open approach does find its way into the results four yourself as a business and what your stakeholders can take away. And guess what: this also builds trust! ⛓️ One great example from my recent experience is the stakeholder dialogue that I was invited to consult and facilitate by Ketchum Austria. Last Autumn I got together with their CEO Saskia Wallner (with who I had the pleasure to work with already with respACT - austrian business council for sustainable development and TRIGOS) as well as Kathrin Pauser and Lisa-Maria Felzmann, not only Communication but also Sustainability experts 🤩. The aim was update the business strategy with topics related to Sustainable Development and we quickly decided to do this with two focused, interactive and engaging dialogue formats. Long story short: It was fun and delivered great results! 👍 Just recently at the #ktag 2024 by the Public Relations Association Austria, thanks to an invitation by Elisabeth Dal-Bianco, Kathrin and myself presented the thoughts and experiences we had on the way. We know that this resonated with our audience due to a lively discussion facilitated by Eva Hubacek (and you see on the picture, again some laughs 😆). What are your thoughts on awards? In my view, they can be valuable from an awareness and reputation perspective, and are a great way to boost morale and both reflect on, and celebrate successes as a team. I find this kind of recognition can be incredibly powerful when it’s related to a project you’ve been working on for an extended period, too. One such example, is our finalist status in the Sustainability Awards for Event Companies category at this year’s @GCN Events Conference & Events Awards. We’ve been evolving our business model at Sledge over the last 18 months, in order to reduce our impact on the environment, and we hope that this nomination inspires others to take action, too. This is an ongoing journey for us, one where we’re committed to implementing sustainable practices from a business and project perspective, so that we can not only play our part, we can both educate, and help our clients achieve their goals, too.
