📚Exciting news📚 I am thrilled to announce the recent publication of our book chapter, titled "Graphene-Based Electrocatalysts" which marks a significant advancement in the design and development of advanced Graphene-based Electrocatalysts: Processing, and exceptional performance in electrocatalytic applications. 🔬 One of the primary challenges in the practical application of these devices is the sluggishness of their reaction kinetics. There should be a heightened focus on examining electrocatalysts that exhibit superior efficiency and enhance kinetics rate. Graphene is one of the most extensively researched electrode materials for electrochemical applications among advanced nanomaterials. The incorporation of graphene with nanomaterials can make it easier to take advantage of the material's inherent features. In this chapter, we undertake an examination of the progress made in the development of graphene and its composites-based electrodes for the electrocatalytic field. 🔗 Read the full chapter here link: https://lnkd.in/gdpJrVcz ✨I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Ali A. Ensafi, Ph.D. ✨ #research #materialsScience #Graphene #Electrocatalysts

I would like to inform you that after an intensive year, I have completed my long-term visiting in the Professor Aldo Boccaccini group at the Institute of Biomaterials University of Erlangen - Nuremberg. During this visit, as a strategy, silicon nitride particles were considered as a ceramic material that could provide extra properties to bioactive glasses simultaneously. Along with typical ceramic processes, the examination and characterization of biological properties made the work interesting for me. I would like to thank TUBITAK for financial support and Professor Aldo Boccaccini group and Fatih Erdem Bastan for their contributions to making this year effective. #https://lnkd.in/dSq_TnGN #Biomaterials #TissueEngineering #bioceramics #bioactiveglass #scienceandtechnology #ResearchVisit

I am pleased to share with you a link to our more recent publication in Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology, dealing with the use of quantum dots and carbon nanotubes in the formulation of a bioadhesive https://lnkd.in/gbzmaBw4 Quantum dots were discovered in the early 1980s by Aleksei Ekimov, who obtained size-dependent quantum effects in coloured glass from nanoparticles of copper chloride. However, it was only last year (in 2023) that the Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to the 3 researchers who made both the discovery and the developments based on them. This is a very interesting research area, and what we investigate is (among other issues) the effect of quantum dots and functionalized carbon nanotubes in the formulation of a new polyurethane-based composite bioadhesive. We tested bioadhesive for wound closure and intestine bursts with good results. In the attached pdf file, figures of how formulations look like under natural light and fluorescent light are depicted Carbon Quantum Dots quantum dots (CQDTs) were produced in our lab from citric acid (see scheme) This project was developed in two institutions (Universidad de Guanajuato and Universidad de Guadalajara) with our own resources and with the participation of two students. #quantumdots #nanomaterials #nanofiller #bioadhesive #polymerscience #biomaterials #biomedicalresearch #WoundHealing

We would like to suggest you a scientific article that was recently published with the participation of #BSUIRScientists in the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy. ✔️ Title of the article: High-performance HER on magnetron-sputtered nanometric Nb films on porous silicon substrates. ✔️ Authors: #BSUIRscientists Serghej Prischepa and Vitaly Bondarenko, and a team of scientists from the University of Salerno, Italy. 📍 The hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) stands out as one of the most extensively studied electrocatalytic reactions in literature. Herein, niobium has been tested for the first time for the catalysis of the HER in the form of nanometer-thick-films. The deposition of 5, 10, and 50 nm-thick Nb thin films onto both smooth and porous silicon substrates, the latter ones with mesopores with mean diameters of 13 nm and 7 nm, respectively, has been successfully achieved using magnetron sputtering, a highly precise and controllable technique allowing a very efficient deposition of Nb films. After the sputtering deposition, the samples were examined by Scanning Electron Microscopy and Energy Dispersive X-ray Analysis analyses which confirmed the purity and uniformity of the Nb coating on all samples. Electrochemical tests revealed top-notch performance, with almost negligible onset potentials (es. 80 mV vs. RHE) and low Tafel slopes (es. 30 mV/dec), thereby paving the way for the future development of cutting-edge devices.
