Despite important strides towards workplace equality, particularly post the landmark 2020 Bostock v. Clayton County ruling, significant challenges persist. Let's shine a spotlight on three crucial obstacles 🏳️🌈 1️⃣ Non-Inclusive Work Environments: Nearly 50% of LGBTQIA+ employees still feel compelled to conceal their true selves at work. Data from UCLA even suggests that being open about one's identity can lead to higher job dismissal rates. 2️⃣ Wage Disparities: Yes, there's a pay gap! LGBTQIA+ employees earn $0.90 for every dollar their non-LGBTQIA+ counterparts make, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This gap widens as they climb the career ladder, especially for Black LGBTQ+ and Trans individuals. 3️⃣ Representation Matters: LGBTQIA+ individuals deserve to see themselves in leadership roles. Let's work toward a future where diversity thrives at all levels of the workplace. Join us in our mission to break down barriers and create an inclusive, equitable workforce for all! https://lnkd.in/g5pfvNQu #JenniferTardyConsulting #TeamJTC #IncreaseDiversity #LGBTQIA+ #Equality #InclusivityMatters #EqualPay

📢 #HETTNorth24: Diversity and Inclusion: ""You got an [Ally] in me” Join One HealthTech Manchester in Central Room 7 for a facilitated discussion on allyship. We’ll explore the importance of allies in the workplace, how you can be an ally and some fears about ‘getting it wrong’. An ally is any person that actively promotes and aspires to advance the culture of inclusion through intentional, positive and conscious efforts that benefit people as a whole. This session is aimed suitable for everyone. Everyone has the ability to be an ally as privilege is intersectional - white women can be actionable allies to people of colour, men can be allies to women, cis people can be allies to members of the LGBTQ+ community, able-bodied people can be allies to those with different abilities, economically privileged people can be allies to those who are not and so on. The session will be hosted by Alex Hernandez, Bernadette Clarke and Charlotte Lewis. One HealthTech is a global, distributed, volunteer-led community that exists to drive better equality, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in health innovation. Secure your pass to HETT North (28th February, Manchester Central) to catch this session ➡️https://hubs.la/Q02lbndt0 #Healthcare #DigitalHealth #NHS #HealthTech #Inclusion #Allyship

VP Diversity, Equity & Inclusion | Impact Leader| 2023 Top 15 Influential Women in Diversity| Speaker| Equity Facilitator| Community builder
As we celebrate Women’s History Month this year with the theme “Women who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion,” and International Women’s Day with the theme, “Inspire Inclusion”, let us honor and celebrate ALL women who are leading the charge with courage , consistency and determination! It is important to recognize women who have fought for equality and justice, and understand the need to eliminate systemic barriers and biases from our society and institutions. Also important, to be intentionally inclusive when celebrating women’s history month, or International Women’s Day, as women with marginalized backgrounds or intersectional identities (African American, Asian, Latina, Native American, immigrant or refugee, with disability or neurodiversity, from LGBTQ+, or from underrepresented religious group) are often forgotten or left behind. Let’s elevate the amazing women who are doing this work day in and day out to #InspireInclusion and stand together! How are you celebrating and honoring Women who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and reflecting through actions and allyship? Let us take this opportunity to recognize and appreciate the contributions of all women in our lives and work towards creating a more equitable and inclusive society. #womenhistorymonth2024 #diversityequityinclusion #InternationalwomensDay

🚺 From fighting for voting rights to breaking barriers in science, business, politics, and beyond, women have continually shaped our world for the better. Their strength, courage, and determination inspire us all to strive for a more just and inclusive society. 🙅♀️ This year's theme, "Choose to Challenge," urges us to confront biases, stereotypes, and discrimination that hold women back. It's a call to action to create a more equitable world where every woman and girl can thrive, free from oppression and limitations. ♀ As we celebrate International Women's Day, let's not forget the importance of intersectionality. We must uplift the voices of marginalised women, including those from LGBTQ+ communities, women of all ethnicities and races, indigenous women, women with disabilities, and others facing unique challenges. #InternationalWomensDay #FemaleEmpowerment #IWD2024 #ChooseToChallenge #EqualityForAll #MindsetBPS #Psychology #MentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealthMatters #Health #PsychologyFacts #Mindset #Mind #OccupationalPsychology #Work #Business #EmployeeExperience #Depression #Anxiety #SelfCare #Mindfulness #Wellness #BusinessPsychology #WorkPsychology

Chief Strategy Officer, member of the Executive board, | Strategy, innovation, venture capital, public affairs, M&A & Sustainable Construction
As an executive member of the board and a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I’ve witnessed the power of diversity firsthand. Our journey toward a more inclusive workplace has been remarkable, but there’s still work to do. It’s up to all of us to champion equality, challenge biases, and create safe spaces for every individual. In a period when open words of exclusion and discrimination come to light again in a revolting brown wave, it is even more important than ever. The business environment creates powerful communities in which we can fight for justice and equality. The strength of a civilization does not come from its toughest members, it derives from the attention given to the weakest. We have been duly fighting for the presence of women in construction. We have made progress, there is still a lot more to do. But let’s not forget that diversity should not be restricted to parity. People still endure discrimination and bad behaviors because of their origin, their religion, the color of their skin, their sexual orientation… Never since the last world war have those topics of equality and non discrimination been so painfully and obviously at risk. As citizens as well as business leaders, we have the responsibility to make our voice heard on the fact that we want a world of equality and fairness. #Bouygues group, we believe in solidarity and the fact that our global business is at first a formidable human adventure. At #Bouygues Construction, we don’t just build projects, we build for life. That commitment extends beyond our physical structures—it’s about building a community where everyone feels valued and empowered. I cannot thank enough my peers for their behavior. As you can only know it if you have felt it, they cannot measure what it is to come to an ExCo seminar with your husband and feel that respect, warmth and simplicity. A big thank at our CEO #PascalMinault for creating this environment. In a simple and low key way, you are a true role model. Let’s continue breaking down barriers, fostering understanding, and celebrating the unique contributions that each person brings. As we are #Buildingforlife, let’s make one worth it, open, inclusive and respectful. Together, we can build a world where everyone thrives. 🌈✨ #DiversityAndInclusion #InclusiveLeadership #EqualityMatters #BuildingforLife

Women’s Equality Day is observed every year on August 26, commemorating the day in 1920, when the 19th Amendment to The United States Constitution was signed into law, officially granting women the constitutional right to vote. First celebrated in 1971, Women’s Equality Day continues to highlight ongoing efforts to establish full gender equality. Despite significant strides toward equal opportunity for women, discrimination and bias still impede women’s access to healthcare, jobs, safety, and other fundamental rights and freedoms. This is especially true for women with intersectional identities – women of color, women with disabilities, and those in the LGBTQ+ community. Hooker Furnishings believes that equitable space is productive space. When women have equal opportunity, everyone benefits, including within the workplace. By uplifting the values behind Women’s Equality Day – demonstrating that women employees are equally valued, respected, and critical to business success — companies stand to benefit in every way!

On this World Social Justice Day 2024, Initiative of Trans with a Mission-Uganda proudly joins the global community in celebrating this crucial day. As we commemorate the theme of "Bridging Gaps, Building Alliances," we emphasize the critical importance of intersectionality and cross-movement understanding in achieving social justice, equity, equality, and inclusivity. At ITWAM-Uganda, we recognize that social justice cannot be achieved without addressing the intersecting forms of oppression and discrimination faced by marginalized communities. Through our programs and initiatives, we prioritize intersectionality by centering the experiences of transgender and gender-diverse individuals, particularly those from rural and marginalized backgrounds. By learning from each other's struggles and building alliances across diverse movements, we strive to create a more inclusive and equitable society. Our programs today are in alignment with the theme of World Day of Social Justice 2024 as we focus on bridging gaps and building alliances within and beyond the transgender community. Through advocacy, capacity-building, and community-based initiatives, we work towards dismantling systemic barriers and promoting comprehensive values-based approaches to human rights advocacy. Furthermore, we highlight the importance of gender diversity in social justice movements. We firmly believe that true social justice cannot be achieved without recognizing and uplifting the voices and experiences of transgender, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming individuals. By amplifying these voices and advocating for gender-inclusive policies and practices, we strive for a more just and equitable world for all. Our call to action goes to all stakeholders, partners, and allies to join us in formulating values-based approaches to advocacy for human rights. Together, let us work towards a future where every individual is treated with dignity, respect, and equality, regardless of their gender identity or expression. Happy World Social Justice Day! #worldsocialjusticeday2024 #socialjustice #socialchange #socialimpact #humanity #humanrightswatch #humanrights #genderequality #genderjustice #genderequity #inclusionmatters #letcommunitieslead #lgbtqcommunity #blackhistorymonth #blackhistorymonth2024 #lgbtqinclusion #transgenderrights
