1moIntuit's CEO dropped the most tone-deaf layoff announcement I've seen for years. Here's why it's a masterclass in what NOT to do: "We've significantly raised the bar on our expectations of employee performance, resulting in approximately 1,050 employees leaving the company who are not meeting expectations and who we believe will be more successful outside of Intuit." Let that sink in, here are reasons this is a DISASTER: ╰┈➤ Public shaming: Labeling 1,050 people as underperformers? That's not just cruel, it's career-damaging. Especially when they will be searching for a new job. ╰┈➤ Lack of accountability: Where's the self-reflection on leadership's role in employee performance? ╰┈➤ Mixed messaging: Intuit boasts an "award-winning culture." This announcement? The exact opposite. ╰┈➤ Reputation damage: This screams "we don't value our employees" to future talent. ╰┈➤ Lack of empathy: Losing a job is traumatic. This cold, clinical approach shows zero understanding of the human impact. Where's the compassion?
