Career progression in administration typically begins at an entry-level position such as administrative assistant or administrative staff. From there, individuals can advance to more senior roles step by step. This progression may include roles such as administrator, administrative coordinator, administrative manager, and potentially department head or director of administration, depending on experience, skills, and education. Each level involves increasing responsibilities, from managing day-to-day administrative tasks to overseeing departmental operations, making strategic decisions, and possibly influencing organizational policies. Successful advancement in an administrative career often requires continuous skill development in areas like communication, time management, organizational proficiency, and proficiency in administrative software and technology. Pursuing additional education, certifications, and taking on leadership opportunities can also accelerate career growth in administration.

🌟 For me, working as an administrative professional is more than just a job; it's a calling rooted in my desire to make a tangible difference. 🌟 I can still remember the day I decided. I was 13 and in my final year in primary school when I made the decision that I would have an administrative career. From that moment - every decision I made was to support this plan - from choosing my high school subjects (typing, business economics, accounting, and economics), completing a secretarial diploma, and deliberately choosing roles that would enable me to develop a diverse set of skills. And right now I am on a further learning journey to expand my skills and to enhance my value and service offering. While some may view administration as a mere entry point or a transient role, I see it as a lifelong career to be proud of—one that demands dedication and expertise. Unfortunately, the administrative profession often faces challenges, including limited career progression opportunities, stagnant job titles, and insufficient recognition for experience and skill. Many companies overlook the invaluable contributions of their administrative staff, failing to provide the inclusive environment and growth opportunities they deserve. If you are an employer, this April, consider how you could create equal and inclusive opportunities for your administration staff. * Consider implementing a framework like the Global Skills Matrix, that will provide career progression and objective measurement of performance. * Consider updating titles so that it supports recognition of growth, and also speaks more to value. * Take us along the journey. Include us and work with us so we can genuinely develop our ability to work in effective partnership with you. #AdministrativeProfessionals #CareerDevelopment #InclusiveOpportunities #ProfessionalGrowth #WorkplaceEquality

Day Job: I help scale assisted living facilities by improving compliance and marketing at ALF BOSS | Assisted Living Specialist Side Hustle: I share free tips on optimizing facility operations and filling beds. ⬇️
The Reality: Very few people set out to become assisted living administrators. Most of us find ourselves in these roles through hands-on experience after starting in other positions like CNAs, marketing directors, or business office staff. The Problem: There’s a high demand for administrators right now, leading to a constant shuffle as facilities offer better pay to attract and retain talent. The Opportunity: You don’t need a specialized degree to get into this field. A high school diploma or GED, a clean background, and core training are often all that’s required. Many facilities are offering substantial salaries, sometimes much more than what you’d make with smaller operations. 👉 Take Core Training Here https://lnkd.in/gJNYeBcD #AssistedLiving #AdministratorShortage #CareerOpportunity #CoreTraining #ALFAdmin #JobMarket

Great place to try to enroll in. — One key note however, and I can be incorrect on this; hindsight is that some of the jobs found on the sight from maybe half a decade ago might be “obsolete” and haven’t been removed. The focus jobs to choose are the ones on the first page which seem to be the focus area. Multimedia for example is one field that I believe is not actually available to apply for. As the name of that department has changed more than once in its decade of time. From being multimedia, video production then merged into digital media to Creative Media (maybe there is a new name) … this field position should be removed for anyone who was trying to apply for multimedia and reinstated as whatever it was supposed to be called. That is just one example of what I mean.// — Reputable is LinkedIn with these opportunity jobs that I don’t want anyone who sees this and find a field of their own interest to either 1 find out it doesn’t exist or 2, it’s no longer called that and/or they aren’t looking. I have never applied for a job in 1 decade as I am trying to build myself .. for the last 10-15 years
