As Pride Month concludes, this recent article from Kevin Bolduc and and Elizabeth Kelley Sohn highlights critical issues in LGBTQ+ philanthropy: Center for Effective Philanthropy's research reveals LGBTQ+ grantees have less positive experiences with funders compared to their peers. Key findings include: 📊 Only 11% of surveyed grantees identify as LGBTQ+ 📊 LGBTQ+ grantees report lower ratings for funders' understanding of their work and contexts 📊 LGBTQ+ grantees have less positive relationships with funders YouthTruth, an initiative of Center for Effective Philanthropy, agrees that as philanthropists and leaders, we must step up to counter regressive movements and ensure LGBTQ+ individuals are seen, safe, and supported in all aspects of society. Read more from our own call to action for funders here–https://lnkd.in/gCcc_niF. Happy Pride Month! Did you know we celebrate Pride month in June as June 28th marks the date in history when the first pride march was held in New York City in 1970. As a local business which supports equality in our local business community, we thought of some easy ways in which you can celebrate #pridemonth at your workplace: 1. Create a collaborative Pride playlist. Celebrate Pride by encouraging employees to create a collaborative playlist. This Pride playlist should feature music from LGBTQ+ artists, songs about self-love, self-acceptance, and celebrating diversity. Coming together through music can be a fun way to celebrate pop culture, honor artistic expression, and find a new favorite song. 2. Raise funds for a charitable cause. Even today, members of the LGBT+ community face discrimination. Raising funds for local LGBT+ charities is a fantastic way to help combat this and work to a society which is founded upon equality. 3. Coordinate a Pride Month book club Reading a book written by a queer author, featuring LGBTQ+ characters, or topics, can be a fun way to expand perspectives. Not only is this an educational opportunity, it’s also a bonding opportunity as it gives coworkers a chance to interact with each other outside of their established roles. #cloudtelephony #telecommunications #telecoms #PridePlaylist #CelebrateDiversity #LGBTQ+Artists #SelfLove #SelfAcceptance #CharitableCause #Equality #LGBT+Charities #PrideMonthBookClub #ReadForEquality #EducationandEmpowerment #PrideCelebration #InclusivityatWork #WorkplaceEquality #LoveisLove #PrideParade #RainbowFlags #SupportLGBTQ+Community #AcceptanceandTolerance #LGBTQ+HistoryMonth #ProudAllYearRound #Equalityforall

Helping women and LGBTQ+ founders and organisations look good while being inclusive and accessible | Founder @ Studio Lutalica | Fractional Creative Director | British Creative Businesswoman of the Year 2023-24
🌈 I am queer. And I don’t like Pride Month 😮💨 I’ll be honest — I have complicated feelings about Pride right now. We have an entire month to celebrate our existence thanks to Black and Brown, Queer and Trans people who riot made it possible for us to get our rights — rights that are still being challenged today everywhere in the world. Pride started as a riot, it should be about resistance and community. But instead, I/we need to work so much harder than any other month because this is the only month our voices get tolerated — and on top of that, corporations use them to make a (huge) profit. 💔 It is draining. This is why at Lutalica, I’m not pushing our comms team to make as much noise as we could during Pride Month. We work for the LGBTQ+ community all year round, and I don’t want my colleagues to feel overwhelmed because this is the only time of the year when straight people acknowledge us. 💪 We want to keep working for the community, providing free support to non-profits who struggle to raise funds for an inclusive brand or an accessible website. These things are not only important, they are crucial, and I will keep shouting this to whoever will listen. I wish we could have started our crowdfunding earlier than Pride Month. We could have done it later, but July and August are holiday months, in September people have no money post-holiday, and then it’s basically Christmas. So here we are — and honestly, it’s not going as well as we hoped because we’re being drowned out by voices that only speak up in the month of June. But we still need your support. 👉 Please watch the video in this post where I explain why this is important. Check out the testimonials we’ve been posting — they are proof that our work is necessary. And then, please reshare and donate to our crowdfunding campaign here 👉 https://lnkd.in/ekREhQ3U ✨ Help us design a brighter future for women and queer communities. #QueerAndProud #LGBTQSupport #PurposeOverProfit #Crowdfunding #InclusiveDesign #CommunitySupport #DesignForChange #HappyPride #PrideMonth I'm curious about what other trans and queer entrepreneurs/professionals think. 📣 This is a BIG one folks - we need your help! Today we’re launching a major fundraising campaign to support pro-bono design services for feminist and LGBTQ+ organisations! 🌈✨ In today’s climate, it’s crucial for these organisations to have a strong brand and accessible online presence. Our goal is to provide these essential tools to those who need them most but can’t afford them. Your support can make a real difference. By donating, you’re helping us amplify the voices of those fighting for equality and justice. Together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable world. As #Pride month comes to a close, this blog post from Center for Effective Philanthropy written by Kevin Bolduc and Elizabeth Kelley Sohn highlights the experiences of LGBTQ+ grantees and how funders can commit to implementing safe approaches that invite LGBTQ+ grantees to be visible, to understanding their needs, and to closing the gap in their experiences as grantees. "Part protest, part commemoration, and part celebration, Pride Month joyfully invites us all to see the rich and diverse lives of queer folks — and to recognize that as far as we’ve come (at least here in the U.S.), we still have a long way to go to achieve a world in which LGBTQ+ people are fully seen, safe, loved, and liberated.1 Philanthropy has a role in achieving that goal, but it, too, has a long way to go in better supporting LGBTQ+ communities. Right now, most funders don’t consider themselves to be LGBTQ+ focused funders. That might be because, according to the most recent tracking report from Funders for LGBTQ Issues, LGBTQ+ communities and issues are specifically targeted for only a small fraction of philanthropic giving. The reality, however, is that nearly every funder is building relationships with queer grantees and often supporting organizations led by LGBTQ+ people, whether they know it or not. And, for any funder that focuses on historically marginalized populations or has intentionally centered equity as a value in their grantmaking, the experiences of queer populations should be part of the conversation. Each aspect of our identities affects our experience, and often the challenges facing marginalized groups can compound one another. So, every funder should be concerned that LGBTQ+ identified grant recipients have significantly less positive experiences with and perceptions of their funders than their straight peers do — at least as measured through response to CEP’s Grantee Perception Report (GPR) surveys."

✅ Founder of Tala Arts at Tala Arts Virtual Business Solutions. We make businesses hum with our virtual support services for nonprofits & creatives! Let's make the world better together.
Hey there! Looking for some advice. My business mission is to help non-profit activist organizations that advocate for the LGBTQ community, racial equality, and neurodiverse communities. I'm here to support you and your mission, and I want to help you make an even bigger impact. How can I assist you best? Do you need more outreach, like internet marketing or raising awareness to attract potential donors? Or, are you looking for additional services, such as prospect research to find potential donors or increasing donations from current supporters? Is there anything else you need to reach your goals in supporting your mission? Thanks a bunch in advance!

Custom Bidding & Programmatic Media Consultant, Data Science/Technology/Product Leader, Chalice and SWYM Founder, Startup Advisor. Two-time Ad-Exchanger Startup of the year award winner. 🏳️🌈 Ally
I am excited about POSSIBLE and meeting Christian Muche and the team. They have been supportive, but it was too late this year to do much in terms of recognizing the erosion of human rights that is going on in Florida this year in a programed way. We have talked about working together for next year. As an aside, someone who is, I think fair to say, an S tier AdTech leader (ask your kids) sent me a lovely note, saying that they were glad that I am raising this issue and my words have had an impact; that they are going to think more about where to hold their events. I could not be happier that I have helped put LGBTQ and Minority rights on their radar. There are a number of LGBTQ folks that will be down at the conference and I hope that they, and folks who are 🌈 allies, will flag me down, ask for a pin (I have 98 left. I sent one to my S tier friend and going to send one home with Adam Heimlich for Ali Manning, whom I promised one) and consider donating to The Trevor Project. I will be in the lobby of the hotel around 3pm, but I will be bopping around. I am looking forward to seeing more of the conference than I usually do. We are going to try to get some folks together for a drink and do some organizing. Let me know if you are interested and I will add you to the group chat. And if you think of it, please do the various things that one can do on Linkedin to improve reach of this post (I am avoiding use of the words. I am wondering if using them reduced reach.) I set up a fund-raising page, below, and will reach out to TTP folks after the conference to see if they are interested in working together. As I have noted, I contribute 10% of the cost of my trips to Florida to TTP. But I would love to have you contribute any amount. I am just thrilled that people think this is an important enough issue to put some cash behind it. https://lnkd.in/eYpkRix5 #possible2024 #lgbtq
