In 2022 we left Cambridge for Cape Town. We whacked our stuff in this container … We needed a radical change: Change of countries Change of scene Change of lifestyle It was the early days building New and needed to cut costs to improve the chances of success and mitigate risk — it was essential. Cape Town gave me the breathing space financially with the brilliant bonus of good friends, good people and nature/weather. Have you been? We’re back in the UK now for various reasons. Trying to keep up the health and fitness isn't easy here – but working on it! Cape Town is a superb place to live and build a business. Like anywhere, it has it’s challenges. Being back in the UK enables us to build on progress and lay foundations for a better future. Have you considered making big changes to open new doors? 2025 is a new year for us all. Trying to build a plane while flying it is true 😂 without an autopilot function
Welcome back 😊 Best wishes for 2025
Your reflections on Cape Town’s transformation are inspiring. It’s amazing to see how a city can evolve and offer new opportunities. What do you think has been the most impactful change in Cape Town over the years? How do you foresee Cape Town balancing growth with sustainability in the next decade?
That was a big change. Well, I'm hoping to relocate to my home country Finland next summer. Education, healthcare, business opportunities and opportunities to explore the world with my kids and maybe meet some friends from different countries.
Ian Greig MBA All is good on my end. Yeah, I'd love to change my scene as soon as I can. What do you miss the most about Cape Town?
I don’t envy you being in the UK, Ian 😂 but sounds like you’re making the most of it (it has its good points lol)
I ❤️ Cape Town
So well articulated
Big changes often lead to new opportunities, and it’s great to see how Cape Town provided the space and support needed for progress.

1moA lot of people make business sound really easy. That's because they probably haven't launched a few ventures or had to make huge sacrifices like downsizing or radically changing things to survive. The failure rates are real. I've been there numerous times. My mission now is to help people avoid the mistakes and the charlatans and do the things that serial entrepreneurs do that most people don't necessarily know about, with legal support fused in to professionalise things and mitigate risk. One day at a time!
