In 2023, #hackers were able to steal an estimated $2bn in #crypto assets - and this could actually be a good sign and evidence of increased awareness and countermeasures on the side of #cryptoexchanges and other companies active in that market. The largest (known) #cybercrime in that space in 2023 was the $200m hack against Mixin Ltd in September. In 2022, it is estimated that around $3.8bn were stolen with the North Koreran #lazarus group suspected as the key actor coming in at $1.7bn.
