Following a high-level consultation, they're now sharing responses to comments received from stakeholders.   🔍 505 comments from 50+ stakeholders across sectors guided Verra's insights. Three key themes emerged: ambition for integrity, maximizing scope impact, and improving transparency/usability. These themes will shape Version 5 priorities.    🌱 Verra plans further public consultations for proposed updates, ensuring active stakeholder engagement. Version 5 will align with ICVCM's Core Carbon Principles, CORSIA, and operationalized labels for Article 6 and reductions/removals. There's news, and there's news. And then sometimes there is VERY BIG NEWS. An explicit endorsement by The White House supporting voluntary carbon markets falls into all-caps big bucket. The focus on high integrity, MMRV and a global market are particularly important in my opinion. Carbon removal and carbon markets is really not rocket science, and we should have to clearly evidence our impact. Supporting a market for international & cross-border trade of carbon credits is the best way of ensuring an equitable transition. This is a much needed and well-timed announcement, time to get to work!

Learn through the new LSE Impact Blog how investors can play their part in driving the transition to a low-carbon economy by using the outputs of the Transition Pathway Initiative (TPI) and make impact. When the TPI was launched in 2017, there was little that investors had at their disposal to evaluate what the transition to a low-carbon economy looked like for their investee entities. Fast forward to today, the TPI has over 145 supporters with ~$60tn of assets under management and advice. It has a dedicated TPI Centre at the The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) (with Prof. Simon Dietz as Research Director), a 20-strong team, and is an independent, authoritative source of rigorous, analytical methodologies, research and data on the progress that not only #corporates but also #banks and #sovereign entities are making in their net zero transition. Big News: The U.S. Government Supports High-integrity Voluntary Carbon Markets (VCMs) 🌍✨ Yesterday, the The White House released a joint statement backing the VCMs and recognising their important role in achieving global climate goals. They introduced a set of principles aimed at boosting confidence in the VCMs by addressing some of their key issues. Here are the main highlights: 🤝 Market Participants’ Responsibility: Emphasis on high integrity and the role of all participants in maintaining and promoting it. 🛰️ Integrity empowered by technology: Advancing Measuring, Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MMRV) to enhance the integrity of carbon removal claims. ⚖️ Climate Action Inclusivity: Supporting international voluntary carbon markets, including developing countries, and providing technical and financial assistance to credit-generating projects and programs in those countries.
