Two weeks after the historic maiden flight of Ariane 6, the movie clip below shines a light behind the scenes. Its main focus is the best asset of ArianeGroup: its people and their passion for our business. I've watched it several times with the same emotion each (re)play. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks to Thierry for the best summary at the end of the movie clip! 👏 #SpaceEnablers #goAriane6 🚀

Some interesting fact: The Oceanic pole of inaccessibility (49.0273°S 123.4345°W) is the most remote place on the Earth. The area is also known as Point Nemo and is a vast stretch of the South Pacific Ocean between the Easter Islands and Antarctica. If you find yourself there, the nearest humans will be astronauts aboard the International Space Station when it passes overhead. Today Point Nemo is mainly used as a space cemetery.

The US and UAE are joining forces to send humans back to the Moon! This "#Artemis" mission is all about working together to figure out the secrets of space. 👉 The UAE is building a special airlock door for a space station that will orbit the Moon. Think of it as a giant space door astronauts can use to get in and out safely. 👉An Emirati astronaut will even get to join the mission! They'll be one of the first people to set foot on the Moon in years. But by working together, the US and UAE hope to overcome these challenges and learn more about how humans can survive in space for longer periods. This will pave the way for future missions to Mars and beyond! #SpaceExploration #Artemis

Something so many people have been talking about over the past week: How are we struggling to land on the moon now when we did it over 50 years ago with Apollo? I dive in. Newsletter version: https://lnkd.in/eqQSxBYz #space #spaceflight #nasa

As I am sure many of you are aware, SpaceX had an anomaly just ahead of our planned mid July Space Norway ASBM launch. SpaceX did, as expected, an impressive turnaround in close dialogue with FAA and other important stakeholders to identify the root cause and to fix the problem, and are back in business after the FAA approval. Therefore, we are looking forward to our ASBM launch coming up shortly, Not Earlier Than 11 August at 1902 Pacific Time (0402 CET). Best guesstimate is through the website www.nextspaceflight.com. Arctic Satellite Broadband Mission is Norway’s largest space program so far, and here are a few highlights: - First HEO satellites built by Norway - First dedicated Arctic satcom capability - First time the TAP orbit is used - First time a US national security payload is hosted by a non US and commercial company - We believe this is the first multinational dual use communication satellites based on a commercial and military collaboration - And we think this is pretty innovative… On our website https://spacenorway.com you may follow our launch live with interviews, the history and facts as well as the embedded SpaceX live stream - and you can watch it again and again if you like! Check it out now, you will find a lot of interesting ASBM information there already - and the count down is on!

🚀 Save the date! The #Ariane6 inaugural flight is scheduled for 9 July 2024, from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana. This announcement was made today at the ILA Berlin Air Show by ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher alongside Ariane 6 Task Force partners ArianeGroup CEO Martin Sion, CNES President Philippe Baptiste and Arianespace CEO Stéphane Israël, with Walther Pelzer, Director General of the German Space Agency at DLR. As we approach the final phase of the launch campaign, our teams are diligently working on the last crucial steps. This upcoming flight represents the culmination of years of dedicated development and testing by #ArianeGroup and its partners across Europe. It will pave the way for commercial operations and a significant ramp-up over the next two years. Ariane 6 is Europe’s new heavy lift launch vehicle replacing its extremely successful predecessor, Ariane 5. Modular and agile, Ariane 6 has a reignitable upper stage allowing it to launch multiple missions on different orbits on a single flight. Thank you to all #SpaceEnablers for their dedication and hard work in making this extraordinary project a reality. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue advancing Europe’s autonomous access to space. #FirstFlight #WorkInSpace #SpaceIndustry ARIANESPACE CNES European Space Agency - ESA
